It's early days, I'm only 16 weeks, but thought I would start canvassing opinions. Obviously have no idea of gender but thinking about girls names today as they seem to be a lot harder.

I'd appreciate your brutally honest opinions on this little lot please...

Ivy
Ingrid
Seraphina
Ines
Aurelia
Alice
Harriet
Cecilia/Cecelia
Martha
Ariadne
Astrid
Thomasina
Lyra

I like Alice and Lyra best.

They are all very pretty but my faves have to be Seraphina, Harriet, Alice, Astrid and Lyra

Yes Harriet is a lovely name. I'm pretty convinced I'm having a boy actually and the names I like are pretty standard and classic top 100 (probably top 50) names and my list is much shorter hence the reason why I find it easier.

I'd go a bit more 'out there' with a girl, not too unusual, but would prefer to avoid the top 10 Grin

DOH. Cecilia better than Cecelia.

I have no objections to any of these. I LOVE Harriet and would have considered it for any girl I had, mainly because of the character Harriet Vane in the Peter Wimsey books.

I like Cecilia better than Cecilia.

I found boys names harder, and then ended up with two boys....
