American, not bad though

CaoNiMa · 17/05/2012 14:21

Horrible. Truly awful.

I know a yuppie couple from Australia who have a baby son named Hunter.

It manages to be chavvy and pretentious at the same time, which is a feat.

MardyBra · 17/05/2012 00:40

Cyourself? Can't even guess how that happened. Or remember what I was trying to say! Test or summat.

Loving the park test.

PorkyandBess · 17/05/2012 00:39

I think your surname is crucial to pulling this off.

It does make me think of the gladiator with the dodgy hair.

gnomeland · 17/05/2012 00:32

I like it but it fails the park test.

If you hear someone shout it in a park, how many legs do you expect to see running Wink

MardyBra · 17/05/2012 00:27

It's a bit the like definition of an intellectual: someone who can listen to th William Tell Overture without thinking about the Lone Ranger.

MardyBra · 17/05/2012 00:25

This is really a cyourself for your fellow Mners are, isn't it?

Those who reply Hunter S Thompson are the intellectuals.

The wellie brigade are the uber middle class.

Those who say Gladiator are the chavs maybe?

SweetPea3 · 16/05/2012 10:36

Makes me think of Hunter S Thompson, so quite cool/edgy

annalovesmrbates · 16/05/2012 09:52

Isn't it a type of horse?

wishiwasonholiday · 16/05/2012 03:26

Makes me think of the gladiator too.

ThePoorMansBeckySharp · 16/05/2012 03:19

I think it's kind of tacky, to be honest.

SodoffBaldrick · 16/05/2012 01:27

Pretentious...?! Hmm Um, no...

Not cool either. Not to my taste.

FrauGrau · 15/05/2012 21:23

I knew a Hunter when I was a teenager, and he was gorgeous, so I've always rather liked the name ...........

Spinity · 15/05/2012 21:02

flogginmolly names don't have to be cool at all. It was an arbitrary adjective I chose to ask the question. I don't know how I feel about the name, I was just canvassing opinions.

silkstalkings I too had thought of the unfortunate rhyming of thx nn Hunt... Grin

Love it.

NaturalOptimist · 15/05/2012 18:12

Agree with sonniboo

SilkStalkings · 15/05/2012 17:57

I quite like it, has a sort of American literary vibe to it somehow, but you have to remember the nickname that will begin with C.

MrsJohnDeere · 15/05/2012 17:47

Wellies

Floggingmolly · 15/05/2012 17:43

Pretentious. Did you really think it was cool? And why must a name be "cool" anyway?

Annunziata · 15/05/2012 17:42

Wellies?

CheerfulYank · 15/05/2012 17:42

Don't like it, but it's become very...for lack of a better word, "chavvy" where I live. (U.S.) So that's probably why I don't like it. It's on par with Jaydin, Kayleigh, etc here.

Bunsouttheoven · 15/05/2012 17:36

'Hunter ready!' - def Gladiatorrrrrrrs
