opinion on girls name CALISSA

I think it sounds lovely but I would worry that people would think it was a misspelled version of Calista or Clarissa or Carissa.

I've heard Callisto means that too, and was the name of a Greek goddess. I love them both but DP wouldn't let me call DD it Sad But, when he told family and friends that's what I wanted they laughed at me told me not to use it.

If you like it, go for it. I sort of wish I had now.

If someone told me that was their name I would assume I had misheard and the name was Clarissa.

I personally don't like it. I love Clarissa. I love Callista. But not Calissa...

Calissa \c(a)-lissa,

cal(is)-sa\ as a girl's name is a variant of Calista (Latin, Greek), and the meaning of Calissa is "cup; fairest, most beautiful".

I thought it was Calista for most beautiful but my Greek is ancient and rusty.
Anyway, like it.
