Non-biblical names?

ds due in a few months and starting to think of names. Are there any/many without a biblical reference. Surname begins with an R, and would prefer something European to reflect very mixed heritage. Dd begins with L so probably best to steer clear of that and Dh rhymes with marvin.
Help, need some inspiration!

Dh objection to non-biblical actually covers every denomination, trouble is he hasn't really contributed anything to the suggestions, just says no. He'd probably quite like a made up name from star trek!

Thanks for all your thoughts so far. Hopefully DS will end up with something we can agree on, but it's a good job there's a while to go. Dd wasn't named for two weeks after birth for this very reason

Seth, Tom and Asher are all Biblical, though, and Aidan is a prominent early saint.

Is DP's objection to an obvious Christian association, or more narrowly Biblical?

We have a hamish in the family already. I like Dylan but again very very popular around here

Couldn't find any saints names that did anything for me, but happily proved wrong, and dh may not even realise any connection

Yep, old and new, and Adam screams bible even to me!

Max i like but very popular around here, and the williams/arthurs leave me cold

I thought girls names were hard enough, but boys are proving very difficult!

The non-biblical thing comes from dh, I don't see the connection unless it's really obvious. I prefer short names.

Dh has already said no to zane, Finn, Seth, arlo, Joel, Jake, Evan. I have said no to his suggestion of Fraser or anything from the muppets!

The Biblical version of Tessa is Thirza.

I think people would see it now as nn for Theresa, so if that was BC name, the link us broken (different derivation). But of course many might make their first association a Christian one because of Mother Theresa.

Do you also want to avoid saints, early Christians, martyrs, Popes?

Thanks for the names so far, Milo is the kind of name that stands out to me, but then it also screams cbeebies at me.

I would like something that's not obviously one nationality or another for fear of favouring one of the many arms of his heritage! I would out myself if I named them.

I just find boys names a bit uninspiring and bland, but I have only just started looking....
