13 days in is my little man a Noah or Joshua?

Hiya so my little man is now 13 days old & STILL doesn't have a name!
I'm actually starting to get embarrassed now.
I think my 2 favs are
Noah James or
Joshua possibly with Noah as a middle name but open to suggestions

Joshua known as Josh has been my fav name since I was about 14, but I picture a brown haired brown eyed boy with it. My baby has unexpectedly got green eyes & blond hair! I say unexpected as im mixed race to have brown skin, hair & eyes & although daddy has very fair Irish skin & green eyes ge has really dark hair!
Anyway just don't think he looks like a Joshua even though I love the name!

He does look like a Noah but not sure if that will give kids a reason to tease him at school?

I need help please name my baby for me

Xxx

So... did you decide on Noah James for your bundle of joy??

Congrats by the way!! Smile

justhayley · 30/04/2012 23:34

Ps thanks for all the posts saying he sounds beautiful - I think he is .... But then I could be totally biased lol.

Thank you for all your input really appreciate it. Still havnt decided 100% but think he's more likely to be Noah James. Maybe ill save Joshua for DS2 if i get one Smile
My DP is being really unhelpful and leaving it up to me which is really irritating & also stressing me out as my brain is mushed & I can't make a decision about what cereal to have for breakfast let alone what to call my bubba.

Oh and thanks for sticking up for me with the coa post - I really wouldn't worry though, every post iv ever seen her/him post on here is horrible so I won't take it personally. some people are just like that I guess Sad

Will let u no if I ever choose a name - might just flip a coin lol

He sounds beautiful Smile.

Noah is a gorgeous name.

amillionyears · 30/04/2012 23:25

Yep, course they do sometimes.

bigbluebump · 30/04/2012 21:36

"I dont think I would call him a name that he doesnt look like. One of my sons likes his name because everyone says he looks like the name."

Really - a baby actually LOOKS like a name? Honestly Grin

amillionyears · 30/04/2012 19:30

I dont think I would call him a name that he doesnt look like. One of my sons likes his name because everyone says he looks like the name.
Good luck with your choice.

exoticfruits · 30/04/2012 19:28

Joshua.

EllenParsons · 30/04/2012 19:01

I like both but I prefer Joshua as I think it seems more timeless whereas Noah got popular all of a sudden.

lalabaloo · 30/04/2012 17:08

congratulations! I prefer Noah James personally but Joshua is a lovely name too. I wouldn't use Noah as a middle name for Joshua though, as the two "a" sounds at the end doesn't sound right to me, although that might not bother you especially if you don't plan to use his middle name very often.

Bubbaluv · 30/04/2012 03:28

Joshua for sure. Noah seems a bit of-the-minute to me.
I knew a lovely Joshua when I was little and he was tall with blond curls (can't remember his eye colour). You can't go wrong with Josh.

wishiwasonholiday · 30/04/2012 02:46

I like Noah the best, round here josh is really popular but we only know of 1 Noah ands he doesn't get teased.

CheerfulYank · 30/04/2012 02:37

Aw, congrats!

I like Joshua the best. :)

NadiaWadia · 30/04/2012 02:30

Joshua by far.

minouminou · 29/04/2012 22:14

God, but people can be nasty. I rarely feel the need to comment on posts like caominha's, but that really is bloody mean- spirited.
Don't like the little man expression myself, but I really would not feel the need to dig at someone like that. Shame on you. Nasty image you used as well.
And then to deride both names.......you're not in your happy place, are you?

Anyway, I reckon overused cliche #1.
His colouring most likely will change, but it won't make a difference to whether his name suits him, whichever you choose.
Congrats, btw!

tammytoby · 29/04/2012 16:14

I'm not keen on either, sorry. Congratulations though - he sounds lovely Smile

welovesausagedogs · 29/04/2012 16:02

Dislike Joshua, Really like Noah. Your son sounds gorgeous with such unusual features.

spammertime · 29/04/2012 12:57

Sorry Cao - but why are they cliched?

And have you ever heard the expression "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all"? The op has come on saying which do people prefer, not what do you think. So if you don't like either, why not stay out of this one?

IWantSummer · 29/04/2012 12:46

Noah
Grin

Solo · 29/04/2012 12:44

Agree re unpleasant post. My own Dd was called Baby Girl for 20 days as she wasn't given a name until then.

I know a 5yo Joshua.

Noah is Chris Evans Ds's name.

theGrapeGatsby · 29/04/2012 12:06

caoNiMa
what a really unpleasant post . baby is 14 days old lots of people use the expression little man
both are lovely names op
noah is lovely but has been rising steadily and is now quite popular know 2 or 3 under 5 .while joshua was popular 20 years ago but has been in steady decline since . i know quite a few teenage joshuas but none under 5

if he looks like a noah and you love the name use it , i doubt he'd get teased for it , it's a good solid name .

josiah is also lovely

CaoNiMa · 29/04/2012 11:22

Your "little man"? Did you give birth to a tiny adult? A dwarf?

Both names are cliched and overused.

BBQJuly · 28/04/2012 21:20

Joshua Daniel
Joshua Samuel
Joshua Luke
Joshua Felix

Jonah Elias
Jonah Matthew
Jonah Thomas
Jonah Alexander

Noah Isaac
Noah Jacob
Noah Jonathan
Noah Zachary

UnnamedFemaleProtagonist · 28/04/2012 20:48

I have a nearly six year old Noah, it is very popular on MN but I don't know any others in RL.

MariahScary · 28/04/2012 20:37

Joshua is more classic and wont date. Noah is quite faddy.
