For anyone following the saga, our surname is Cummings and we were going to go with Barnaby (nn Barney) but somehow didn't use it so it hasn't stuck. We still might well go with it but an alternative has popped up - Rex. Similar to Max which we liked but hopefully without sounding rude?

I'd appreciate any honest opinions please!

Rex is an unimaginative name for a dog, and a truly awful name for a child.

Barney is nice for a dog, but not for a child.

Max is a popular name for dogs and quite a nice name for a child.

I'd go back to the drawing board.

Those are my honest opinions, feel free to disregard them.

I'd be worried if he turned into a big lad the name Rex wouldn't be best.. An also think dog. Sorry

I beg to disagree ivykaty. To me, Bob would be the DM reader. He'd probably spout sexist rubbish in the club bar after the bowls match.

sexy rexy - sorry!

ivykaty44 · 27/04/2012 16:58

Rex is someone I know plays bowls and is kind but a bit of a damily mial reader and well the younger generation don't know they are born type. Sooo not sure I could agree to rex - sorry

Richard? or Robert, then Bob or Rob?

cece · 27/04/2012 16:58

We were a bit like this with our DS2. In the end we went for Tom - mainly because we couldn't think of another name we could agree on. Rex is nice. I do know a Rex and he endured a bit of Sezy Rexy daunting as a teen though.

MardyBra · 27/04/2012 16:57

Rex is really nice. A strong name - I know a young Rex who is a lovely lad.

Ignore any posts with the word "dog" in them (except this one).
