I have a Daniel who hates being called Danny. He is only 4 but very resolute about it.

Danny.

Just asked my 7 yr old what name he prefers and he said Danny.

Greenshadow · 26/04/2012 14:08

My Daniel refuses to be called Danny.
Friends at school starting to call him Dan though which I'm not terribly fond of.

Milo will date. Daniel is more classic.

tammytoby · 26/04/2012 14:06

Neither.

Milo is a chocolate drink and a Tweenie. Daniel is a little dull and I don't really like Dan or Danny.

RobinSparkles · 26/04/2012 12:54

Danny but only if it's short for Daniel.

Milo is a Tweenie

savoycabbage · 26/04/2012 12:50

Daniel. But I'd rather drink Milo.

thisisyesterday · 26/04/2012 12:49

Danny

BackforGood · 26/04/2012 12:49

Dan/Danny/Daniel. I'd like to have the option by having had my parents give me the full name.
Milo sounds like a Tweenie.

AndiMac · 26/04/2012 12:24

Danny. You can have the little boy name of Danny, the big boy/man name of Dan and the work name of Daniel. Milo is horrible and if he ever goes to Australia people will constantly take the piss out of being named the equivalent of Horlicks.

birdofthenorth · 26/04/2012 12:16

Milo. Daniel/ Danny/ Dan is fine but a bit dull, sorry

welovesausagedogs · 26/04/2012 11:58

Milo

TeWiDoesTheHulaInHawaii · 26/04/2012 10:20

I used to live with a Daniel and a Milo, oddly enough.

Milo was a knob, I'm still friends with Dan... so Daniel!

seeker · 26/04/2012 10:12

I think it's like to be called Daniel. Then I could choose to be Danny or Dan or the long name.

I think I would choose to be Dan, but Daniel whenni was a hot shot lawyer.

AWomanCalledHorse · 26/04/2012 10:12

I don't like Daniel/Dan/Danny. All Daniels I know are always called Dan...

I like Milo (phantom tollbooth), but there is nothing to nn if he hates it. Like Stellan, I like Miles more.

supernannyisace · 26/04/2012 10:09

Out of the two - Danny.

Milo - ?? I don't think so, but as above Miles is quite nice.

Depends on surname too though.

huptwothree · 26/04/2012 10:08

Yes Daniel or Dan acceptable. Danny awful (Danny Kaye, Danny La Rue, Danny Zuko)

huptwothree · 26/04/2012 10:07

God, neither.

YouFloatLikeAFeather · 26/04/2012 10:03

Don't like Danny - sounds like a bit of a wide boy/charmer.

Dan is nice though.

Not sure about Milo - I do like it but not sure I would want to be a boy with that name, if that makes any sense at all. Miles is very nice.

HSMM · 26/04/2012 10:02

Danny

NoVeggiesBeforeEggies · 26/04/2012 09:56

I like both.

Like Milo more I think. Though I really like the look of it spelt Mylo.

ThePathanKhansWitch · 26/04/2012 09:52

I've never met a Milo, but i do really like it.

However every Danny/ Daniel i've met have been really charismatic men.

akaemmafrost · 26/04/2012 09:51

Danny

pictish · 26/04/2012 09:50

Ds2 was nearly Milo. It had always been on the list for a second boy.
However, dh thought of a name out of the blue we had never considered before, and we both knew it was 'the one'.
Still love Milo though.

pictish · 26/04/2012 09:48

Milo.
