Llinos means linnet. A fairly popular name if you're in Wales - if not, pronunciation nightmare.

Every baby name website I've ever looked at has been absolute linguistic guff surrounded by glitter and fluffy wuffy baby pictures... get a proper baby name book everyone!

Oh dear, so sorry! Good luck OP in finding something suitable :)

BBQ I've just looked at that site and I'm afraid it's utter bollocks! Esyllt is Welsh for Isolde, and Eluned or Luned would be Linnet. Sorry! :) I've found a lot of Welsh baby name sites that are either completely made up or someone has flicked through a dictionary choosing pretty sounds but not looking at the meaning (one example off an American site- Girls' name- Artaith- means torture :o

Linnet

Linnet \l(in)-
net\ as a girl's name is a variant of Linette (Welsh, Old French) and Lynette (Welsh), and the meaning of Linnet is "idol; linnet, a small songbird; nymph; idol".

Isolde

Isolde \i-sol-de, is(o)-lde\ as a girl's name. Possibly (Welsh) "fair lady". In legend, Isolde is an Irish princess made famous by Wagner's opera "Tristan and Isolde".

Cerys Matthews is a Cerys not a Carys.

I never knew Cecilia had Welsh roots... It's certainly not seen or used as a Welsh name.

DogEared · 17/04/2012 10:58

Awen (means inspiration and is a relatively common name)
Alaw means music and is a well-known girls name.

Cecilia

St Cecilia was the patron saint of music.

www.thinkbabynames.com/meaning/0/Cecilia

"The name came from the Welsh name Seissylt meaning "sixth". It was later used as an English form of Latin name Caecilia, feminine of Caecilius (see Cecil)."

Carys (Matthews)?

Closest I can get is Cerdwen which means fair poetess I think
