I'm of Spanish descent and am having real difficulty choosing between my favorite girl names; Areola and Satchelle. DH and I have been arguing about it non-stop for MONTHS. I'm due in two weeks, please help ladies! Any other suggestions welcome...

I'm honestly not sure if this is a wind up? Confused
If it is serious then I'm sorry but I agree with what everyone else has said - nipple or satchel bag? Neither of these names would work in the UK without a lot of teasing for the child.
'I really don't think mumsnet are being very supportive. Not sure this is the help I was looking for...'
you have come on asking for honest opinions - people have given you that - please get upset/offended when people have given you honest unbiased opinions just because you don't like the answer. There's no point asking for advice/feedback then not taking it.

Nice for you that your childrens names express your passions and your soul, but you're not the one who'd have to go around with a name that means Nipple or Schoolbag.
It's not all about you.

Why not just make up a name like your first child?

birthdaygurl · 10/04/2012 16:35

You asked for opinions.Confused Sorry your names are vile you didn't get the support you were after, have you tried netmums?

Voidka · 10/04/2012 16:33

And I agree - I think Satchell is a boys name.

Voidka · 10/04/2012 16:28

There are loads of other Spanish names - you seem to have picked the oddest ones.

Good one! Grin

mum47 · 10/04/2012 16:25

Sorry, no to either, especially the nipple one. Arianna or Ariadne are both nice though. Think seriously about when they go to school :)

squoosh · 10/04/2012 16:25

Not the nipple name. Definitely not.

Not hugely keen on Satchelle either. There must be much nicer Spanish names.

KateShmate · 10/04/2012 16:22

Sorry but Areola is too 'nippley'

What about Ariella? DD's have a little friend called Ariella and, personally, I think its just really cute!

Satchelle is lovely! Reminds me of my niece's name, Rochelle, which I also think is gorgeous. Areola is not that bad - calm down everyone

Nips or school bags, sorry. Mumsnet seem to be being supportive by telling you the truth. And yes, holding on to your heritage is fine, but here in England that's what those words mean. Use them, don't use them, but don't ask for opinions and then whine when obvious things are pointed out to you.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 10/04/2012 15:32

Ariadne is lovely.

ilovejamieoliver · 10/04/2012 15:22

My children's names express my culture, my passions and my soul and i really don't think mumsnet are being very supportive. Not sure this is the help I was looking for...

I thought Satchell was a boys name?
www.thinkbabynames.com/meaning/1/Satchell

Never heard of Areola. This has to be a wind up surely?

PestoPenguin · 09/04/2012 21:17

Just be grateful you asked the question online Wink. Had you named your baby either of these things people would constantly be thinking what posters here have said, and possibly sniggering, even if they were too polite to tell you. A few aren't polite and will say what they think whatever.

Most people expect honesty when they post on MN Grin.

eggtimer · 09/04/2012 21:13

nope, sorry.

ilovejamieoliver · 09/04/2012 21:13

Areola for just a middle name maybe? It will always have a special ring for me. Ali2girls - I can't believe the reactions some people have had either!!! And yes, Ariadne is a great name. I would consider Ariadne-Satchelle...

So nipple or bag then? Neither really works in the UK.
