Hi,

We are expecting again and would like to use my sisters name as a middle name HOWEVER the name itself doesn't feel middlenameish not even a word more a name in its own right.

Can anyone suggest anything that would work??

Fiona is lovely! I agree that something that doesn't end in an "a" would be best. Also, I don't think a single-syllable name would work.

Harriet Fiona
Catherine Fiona
Rachel Fiona
Caroline Fiona
Lillian Fiona
Eleanor Fiona
Josephine Fiona.

Something that doesn't end in an "a" would flow best.

Yes Stellan, should have put that in the text!

I like classic names but would prefer them not to be too popular, difficult i know.

I like Charlotte and Annabel from your list. I like Hannah and Alice but nothing seems to sound 'right'.

So you want your daughter's middle name to be Fiona? Think of how often you tell people your middle name. Just pick a name you love. Very few will sound ridiculous with Fiona and even if it does, your daughter won't be saying it that often!

Some suggestions: Molly Fiona, Charlotte Fiona, Isabel Fiona, Annabel Fiona, Hope Fiona, Kennedy Fiona, Margaret Fiona, Rose Fiona... Pretty much anything will work so long as you avoid names like Felicity and Francesca.

Give us some idea of what other names you like and it might make it easier to suggest alternatives to consider to you.
