Name to hyphenate with Lily?

Lily-something?

or possibly Something-Molly perhaps?

Along the lines of Lily-Beth, or Hannah-Molly.

Not May Rose or Grace though.

All ideas gratefully received! Smile

Not a fan of hyphenated names either.

And Lily-Beth sounds like a toddler trying to say Elizabeth.

NoMoreInsomnia12 · 01/04/2012 17:21

I would avoid L names generally at the moment. At school it's all Lily, Lilly, Lila, Lyla, Lyra, Lola, Lucy...

nizlopi · 01/04/2012 17:17

Hate hyphenated names, they're so precious.

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 01/04/2012 17:16

Not keen on hyphenating and besides, the appeal of Lily (and indeed of lilies!) is its simplicity.

Liliana is a v.pretty name though; ds has a friend named that. I don't think there are many around - ds and his friend are 11 and I've not heard of any others.

Showmethemhappyfeet · 01/04/2012 17:09

Oh please not Mai/Mae/may! I don't know what this new thing is shoving May on the end of a common name and thinking it makes it 'different' grrAngry
Sorry, pet hate!
If you thi k Lilly on its own is too common, pick something else. Lila is pretty!

welovesausagedogs · 01/04/2012 15:33

Lily-Mae
Lily-Rose
Lily-Anna or Liliana
Lily-Grace
Lily-Fay
Lily-Isla
Lily-Ella

My favourite is Lily-Mae

Newtothisstuff · 01/04/2012 15:32

My DD is a Lily just plain Lily her middle name is Grace tho.. I did toy with Lily-rose when she was born

Emmielu · 01/04/2012 15:27

I like Lily-Beth though

Emmielu · 01/04/2012 15:26

Lily-Alice
Lily-Kate

umm....look through the girls baby names books & write down the ones you like & just say it with the last name & see what it looks like written down. There are many ways to spell Lily too, my DD spells hers Lillie. Very awkward now i think of it because people spell it wrong. Dont blame them really!

Totally agree with Posie in also the owner of a hyphenated name two 70s stuck together.

Lily's pretty on its own.

PosiePumblechook · 01/04/2012 15:15

As an owner of a hyphenated name please don't do it. Mine's okay but I'm 37yr and there were none really when I was born. But nowadays hyphenated names are horrid and barely anyone says the last bit. Hence I fought my DH tooth and nail to ensure dd didn't have one.

jetstar · 01/04/2012 15:13

I agree that you shouldn't do it - sorry

GoGoBananas · 01/04/2012 15:11

The woman on the bus (that's her full name) has a Lily-Jane, Libby-Rose and Maddie-Grace. Only I know from her dp's tattoos that they're actually Lillee-Jain, Libbee-Roze and Maddee-Grayce. My love of hyphenated names is inversely proportional to TWOTB's spelling abilities.

CuffingChunt · 01/04/2012 15:07

Agree with doctordwt don't do it. Hyphenated names are awful.

CremeEggThief · 01/04/2012 15:02

Lily-Ella? Lily-Faye? Or thisisyesterday's suggestions? I like Lila.

iHeartTheoJames · 01/04/2012 14:40

I know a Lily-Dawn and a Lily-Pearl

thisisyesterday · 01/04/2012 14:36

I must admit to not being a huge fan of hyphenated names.

if you don't like Lily on its own as it's so popular then why not choose something completely different?

or go for a Lily-ish name like Lilith, Liliana, Lila, Lilia, Lilian

mrswoodentop · 01/04/2012 14:35

Lily rose
Lily Mae
Lily Jane
Lily anne
Lily anna
Lily Lou

Treefutom · 01/04/2012 14:35

Lily-Pad?

Grin

No, seriously, I think Lily-Jane is nice, Lily-Kate?

doctordwt · 01/04/2012 14:33

Please don't!

threeleftfeet · 01/04/2012 14:30

Not keen on Lily on its own as here just are so many of them.
