DH is really keen on Sophia but I am very worried that it is just too popular and DD will be one of many.

I know a 3 year old Sofia and a 2 year old Sophia.

I have one, she is 8 months. Have come across 2 or 3 since naming her, think it is around top 40 mark. Her NN is Fifi as DD1 couldn't say Sophia

Oh yes, I also know 2 x Sophie who are 5yo and 3yo.

It isn't too popular and it's a nice name, I would use it. Even if you have a name on the top of the popularity lists (like Olivia or Grace), statistically only 1 in 50 babies will be using it (or something like that, I think I read) so even Olivias and Graces might expect to be the only one of that name in the class.
