I finally pinned my husband down ( not literally!! ) to making a names shortlist - was very :o that he actually stopped working for one evening!!!

So here they are, your (gentle) thoughts please?

Girls - middle name will be Lily for family connection.
Megan
Jemima
Harriet (Hattie)

Boys - middle name likely to be Austin
Leo
Henry
Arthur
Luke
Possibly Austin as first name.

Disclaimer: I'm a fussy old bat and prone to changing my mind :)

I love Megan and Luke.

DD (8yo) said - if we call her Hattie, will she need lots of hats? I have some she can borrow :o

I think we would use Art / Artie for nn if we had Arthur...

So exciting!!

I love Jemima and Henry. I like all the other names too other than Austin...

melodyangel · 26/03/2012 11:20

I think they are all nice names but I love Hattie and Austin. I know a little boy called Austin and not once has it made me think of the films - although that maybe because I haven't seen them.

Bless your DD.

I really like Art and considered it for DS1 until my mum mentioned the likelyhood of kids adding a 'F' to the begining.

Harriet Lily & Henry Austin are both lovely. If Austin is a family name you wish to keep and you have a girl, you could consider using it as a second middle name - we did this for our DD using DH's late Mums maiden name that would have disappeared. All 3 names not used for everyday, but it's there iyswim.

melody that made me laugh... Farty Arty haha! Well, if its a boy and anything like his daddy....

Winnie that's a great idea, I hadn't thought of that, thank you!

Harriet and Arthur.

winkle2 · 26/03/2012 16:35

I like Austin and didn't even think of the Austin powers connection!

Like Megan and Hattie but not Harriet. Leo is lovely.

3boysgirlontheway · 26/03/2012 17:14

LOVE Hattie, love it! Your boys names are nice, but, I really hope you have a girl and call her Hattie :)

suburbandream · 26/03/2012 17:18

I love Megan and Hattie, not so keen on Jemima

Boys - Luke is v.popular, but I love the others, as long as it's Henry not Harry (again v.popular)

squoosh · 26/03/2012 17:31

I like Austin and it doesn't remind me of Austin Powers at all.

I think of it as an old man's name, I know a couple of elderly Irish farmers called Austin, so to me it doesn't seem a new or faddy name at all.

Don't like any of your girl's names really. They're ok but don't thrill me.

SoozyWoozy · 26/03/2012 21:21

I've got 3 DDs, wouldn't be at all surprised if this one is a girl too :)

squoosh you have intrigued me... what kind of girls names do you like? I'm open to new ideas!
