Hi everyone, had my scan today, and after having a feeling that it was a boy am a little suprised, but happy Smile that we are having a girl!
But really hadn't thought too much about girl names tbh, had decided on Rex William for a boy, and love that name sooooo much, i may decided to have another after this one in the hopes i can use it Shock!

So, names for girls we like but can't decide on are:

Phoebe
Zoe
Abigail
Hazel
Jessica
Rachel

any other suggestions are welcome.

Thank you lockets, I am trying to convince DH to have a third! I truly love the name, still no better on the girl name though, everything I like he hates and vice versa :(.

Phoebe is nice.

What about:
Evie
Lulu
Rosa
Lola
Ines
Bella
Biba
Lily
Lila
Magenta
Red
Scarlett
Violet
I like the name Red, quite unusual without being weird.

Names that attach:
Rae, e.g. Evie Rae, Rosie Rae etc

I was just about to suggest Roxy if you like Rex, but see I have been beaten to it. Roxanne or Roxanna are both lovely too.

don't like any of the others.

MadameChinLegs · 06/03/2012 19:54

What about Jemima?

useyourloaf · 06/03/2012 19:52

Rachel or Rachael my favourite - not too keen on Hazel.

I think Gemma or Jemma is a really pretty, similar kind of name to those you listed OP.

MadameChinLegs · 06/03/2012 19:49

When I found out I was pregnant, I looked at the cats and thought 'grrrr.....what am I going to call the baby???' I actually spent the first day of my poor DDs life calling her Phoebe by mistake Blush

OTTMummA · 06/03/2012 19:48

Madamechinlegs, i adore the name Rex, fell in love with it after not liking any boy names at all, i joked with dh about changing DS1's name to Rex when it turned out we are having a girl, he was not amused! Grin
I really wanted to use the name, but can't, so will either be the next baby name if we have a boy, or be relegated for a future pet.

Ok, obviously not the french spelling! Grin

I like Jennifer, dh not so much, and can't use Callie.

JimbosJetSet · 06/03/2012 19:43

Caroline, nn Carrie?

MadameChinLegs · 06/03/2012 19:43

Grin I have a Rex and a Phoebe....fair enough they are my cats, but we actually named them our favourite baby names as we thought kids were a decade off.

jaffacakehips · 06/03/2012 19:39

I like Jennifer..classic and I haven't met any baby Jennifer's yet. Are you help with the Jen, Jenny nn? Not to keen on Cassie what about Callie? {clutches at straws}

abrakebabra · 06/03/2012 19:39

Rachel is lovely

AThingInYourLife · 06/03/2012 19:39

No to Rachelle!

Terrible.

Like Rachel very much.

OTTMummA · 06/03/2012 19:36

Jetaime, i was thinking of spelling it as, Rachelle, the french way, it looks prettier to me, does that make sense?

OTTMummA · 06/03/2012 19:34

I quite liked Ariel, but DH vetoed that one, which i did like more than the rest tbh.
But i like Violet, jaffa! i will put that to DH

What do you think about Jennifer and Cassie?

JeTaimeTirane · 06/03/2012 19:33

I like Rachel - classic and underused in this generation.

Girls rule!

Can't go wrong with the older names, there's a reason they endured. I admit I don't go with Jessica/Phoebe's cos whilst they're nice there's a lot of them.

I met a lady today who had a Claudia two months ago and chose it cos there hadn't been any of them in recent times in our local hospital!

jaffacakehips · 06/03/2012 19:31

Ottilie
Esme
Astrid
Aurelia
Matilda
Suzannah - Zanna as a nn?
Ursula

Any good or way off?!?!?

jaffacakehips · 06/03/2012 19:24

Xanthe
Posy
Claudia
Cosima
Violet
India
Eliza
Marina

Are all on my list dh not doing as he's told for future Jaffa baby Grin

jaffacakehips · 06/03/2012 19:15

Congrats on your wee girl! Exciting stuff. Girls rock Grin

IMO none of your girls names are as strong as Rex William (which i think is effing cool) That's not to say I don't like them but they don't 'grab' like Rex William.

I'll have a think and get back to you!

Good luck
