Hi, I have always loved Kitty, but we can't use it. Am also concerned it is becoming quite popular round here. Can anyone suggest a name like Kitty (preferably ending in -y/ie sound) that is perhaps not so current?

Thanks

Hettie, short for Henrietta - I love it!

moonbells · 08/03/2012 15:29

My grandmother was Kate, which got invariably turned into Katie or Kitty.

If we'd had a DD then Kate would have been one of her names.

My ds aged three has a little friend called Keturah, I wondered where the name came from.

melika · 08/03/2012 14:54

Kathleen is not popular but is nice, Kitty, kathy or Katey for short.

MsF1t · 08/03/2012 14:38

Saffi, short for Saphire/Safira. Or Suki (Susan, Susannah).

Or, if you still don't like any of these, just go with the one you liked in the first place, what the Hell.

MsF1t · 08/03/2012 14:18

Oo, I love Keturah. Nice find.

(Similar to the middle name my daughter was going to have 'til MIL stuck her oar in!)

I've got a Kitty, and want an Ettie, maybe short for Harriet or Juliet.

pinkegg11 · 07/03/2012 19:32

Lottie could be short for Carlotta.

Hattie, Essie, Letty (short for Lettice, a very old English name that DH refused to even consider for DD).

kisshug · 07/03/2012 18:31

Hmm, don't like many of these. Quite like Lottie but don't like charlotte. Is there something else this can be nn for?
