From your list I love Willow and Tabitha is OK

Not keen on any of the others

FilterCoffee · 08/03/2012 21:54

Dislike "Tabs" as a nickname. Tabs is a slang word for ears.

MrsJangles · 08/03/2012 21:36

We had a cat named Tabitha so can't get past that one. Love Molly - almost chose this for my DD. Agree with Maybe that Willow is awful. Chloe is overused, but I actually love the name Lola. I don't think it sounds like a stripper name at all.

MaybeItsBecause · 08/03/2012 12:53

POLLY!

MaybeItsBecause · 08/03/2012 12:53

Love Chloe.
Tabitha and Lola are OK.
Molly - not fussed, prefer Poly.
Willow is awful.

Minty82 · 08/03/2012 12:25

I've always loved Tabitha, and don't think the Tabby shortening is inevitable - I know a six-year-old Tabitha and she's always called by her full name, or Tabs.
Quite like Molly; not keen on any of the others I'm afraid.

LittleSF · 08/03/2012 11:51

Agree with squoosh: Tabitha is a lovely name and I think the nicest on your list by a long way.

useyourloaf · 06/03/2012 20:08

Molly - Like it - cute but serious enough
Chloe - OK quite pretty
Lola - not sure
Willow - NO - heard this SOOOOO much in last few weeks/months
Tabitha - NO - Tabby is not a good shortned name IMO.

exoticfruits · 06/03/2012 19:40

Chloe

BorderDancer · 06/03/2012 19:37

Aw I like Molly! Willow is becoming a bit de rigeur round where I live. Pink called her daughter it so will become v fashionable no doubt. Tabitha sounds like she needs to come with a trust fund. Lola reminds me of Charlie's irritating sister. Don't like Chloe.

So Molly from this corner!

Hulababy · 06/03/2012 19:36

My DD is called Mollie so I am rather biased :)

Spookey80 · 06/03/2012 19:34

Molly gorgeous.... I could be biased though!
Also quite like tabitha, agree with the willow thing, not my cup of tea.
Chloe seems a bit dated, Lola... I just think showgirl.
But def could be worse choices..

jaffacakehips · 06/03/2012 19:19

I'm really sorry but I don't really like any of them, but if your going to make me...Wink

Molly.

Good Luck

mammaaintraisinnofool · 06/03/2012 19:15

Chloe Lola or Molly are all lovely.
Willow - bit hippy dippy
Tabitha - def a cats name sorry

Bubbaluv · 06/03/2012 07:46

Dsis not DS!

Bubbaluv · 06/03/2012 07:44

My husband's first reaction to Molly (when my DS was thinking of baby names) was Big-Fat-Molly Blush I don't know where he got it from, but none of us could get it our of our heads once it had been said so that name was abandoned. I have to say I was glad as I really don't like it - sounds silly and overly cutsie to me.

Willow sounds like the daughter of a terribly posh couple who wanted to be a bit hippy in the 70s.

Tabitha is ok and at east it has a bit of gravitas.

Lola makes me think of Charlie and...

Chloe is pretty but a bit overused. Maybe think of something similar...Zoe, Cleo, Clara?

Showmethemhappyfeet · 06/03/2012 06:59

Willow - lovely!
Lola - sorry bit it always strikes me as a stripper name Blush
Tabitha - cats name
Molly - to me it's a dogs name. I had a dig called Molly when I was younger. And my friend has just got a puppy named Molly.
I forget what the rest of the list was sorry!

Stellan · 02/03/2012 20:37
  1. Chloe - sensible name
  2. Molly - sensible name
  3. Tabitha
  4. Willow
  5. Lola

I much prefer Willa to Willow; if that had been your choice, I'd have placed it higher in my list.

BoysBoysBoysAndMe · 02/03/2012 20:19

Willow is on my list for girls! I love it and have since I was last pregnant.

We also love

Betty
Pixie
Autumn
Eveline

Tabitha - reminds me of a tabby act
Lola - she was a showgirl
Molly - Kerry Katona's eldest
Chloe - I like, but my gran has a cat named chloe

So Willow from me!

SwedishEdith · 02/03/2012 16:35

I know a Willow in her late 40s. She's a Wilhelmina though so could consider that as her grown-up name?

squoosh · 02/03/2012 16:31

I love the name Tabitha and say pah to all the people who say 'oh but it's a cats name'. TBH out of all your names listed Molly is the one most likely to have lots of similarly named cats and dogs. Pets these days ALL seem to be called Molly or Poppy or Max or Charlie.

oikopolis · 02/03/2012 16:27

Tabitha - lovely
Molly - nice, but only as a nn for Mary or Margaret imo
Lola - i think of the Kinks song. it's nice as a nickname for something though. Charlotte, Elodie, Lois, Leona, etc. Dolores is traditional but it's blah imo.
Chloe - nice enough, has become v common lately though
Willow - too American.

Warmwoollenmittens · 02/03/2012 16:14

Willow - no, very overused
Chloe - no, very overused, female equivalent of Jack
Tabitha - like it but it was our cat's name when I was little.
Molly - yes
Lola - hmm, too trendy for me I'm afraid.
Sorry - I'm not much help being a very old-fashioned person with very traditional taste. (Eleanor, Hannah, Isobel, Kitty kind of names......)

HolyNoSheDittantBatman · 02/03/2012 16:13

Willow - pretty, but getting more and more popular, don't think it will age well
Molly - nice
Tabitha - ok, but wouldn't be my choice
Lola - don't like
Chloe - fine, but a bit meh

In order of preference; Molly, Chloe, Willow, Tabitha, Lola

Lambchop76 · 02/03/2012 16:08

Willow - the sound is nice, but what happens if she wants to be a criminal barrister when she grows up?
Molly - better
Tabitha - best - she can be either cute Tabby or stronger Tabitha.
Lola - porn star name
Chloe - overfamiliar
