"Tough" names for a boy

So after spending so much time picking beautiful girls names, I find out today that all my instincts are unreliable and its a boy!
I seem to like American sounding names and the boyfriend and me both agree we want it to sound "tough"....... but we're completely stuck for ideas. We want something as different as possible without being silly if that makes sense! Can any of you help with suggestions???

I like Brody! I thought it was a girls name as a female singer I like is called Brody but that can go on the list now for sure!!

So many good suggestions, I may throw away my baby names book!!

Thanks all!! xo

But TheAvocado Biff is a girl!

Mollydoggerson · 20/02/2012 21:56

Is Frank tough? Or Carlo/Carlito, I love those, very mob-esque.

Danny is also tough.

Mollydoggerson · 20/02/2012 21:54

John is quite tough.

Rex
Bruce

Any doggy type names are tough, but too tough would be a bit daft, Ming the merciless for example.

Strong and traditional are often tough.

TheAvocado · 20/02/2012 21:53

Slab
Thud
Biff
Chip
Kipper

LCarbury · 20/02/2012 21:50

Cliff
Rock
Brad
George
not Errol, though

TrueRomance28 · 20/02/2012 21:50

I know what you mean about the American contradiction fluffygal because I like Teddy but its probably the least tough name you could find!!
Trying to combine mine & DP's tastes is not proving easy!!

Vinnie/vinny is awful! I have no suggestions though, except most American names don't sound very tough at all, bit of a contradiction in terms for me!

TrueRomance28 · 20/02/2012 21:39

Oh wow theres some really good ones there, thanks everyone! I do like Vinny and Cash especially.
I like Troy too but its the name of an ex so best not Grin
