"Tough" names for a boy

So after spending so much time picking beautiful girls names, I find out today that all my instincts are unreliable and its a boy!
I seem to like American sounding names and the boyfriend and me both agree we want it to sound "tough"....... but we're completely stuck for ideas. We want something as different as possible without being silly if that makes sense! Can any of you help with suggestions???

Hmm...they don't really fit the bill do they. Ok, I know what you mean OP as I like those kind of names too. What about going cowboy? Wyatt, Billy, Tex, Sam, Butch, Cassidy, Jesse, Cody,

Asa is a girls name in Scandinavia. I think names ending in -a sound very feminine generally and are normally girls names.

But Ace sounds masculine. If you like it, how about Ace Lennox? That sounds American and quite 'tough'.

TrueRomance28 - Hunter Knox sounds like it fits the bill but you may want to give your son the option of a more traditional middle name too - e.g. Hunter Matthew Knox or something like that.

But, if you want to go with Ace, call him Asa (Ace). It's a name from the Old Testament and therefore has a lot of history and won't be as faddy as Ace.

I can't believe how many great suggestions are here! As a forum newbie this is all a bit amazing to me!!

I see Hunters been mentioned a few times, at the moment I'm liking Hunter Knox, although I also like Ace but can't think of a middle name to go with it. I do want a middle name just in case ds isn't keen on our choice of first name! Giving the boy an option!!

Ps. OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere Randy Dash sounds like he belongs in a film hehehe
