DH and I both teachers and looking for quirky names!

My DH and I are both teachers and don't want a name that will remind us of any pupil in particular- so we need something quirky/unusual but not totally "out there"!
DS is 14 months and called Logan- a name which is unusual but not in the realms of wacky and everyone seems to love it.
DC2 due in August and we don't know the sex.
Any ideas?
We've come up with a couple:
Blake
Riley
Noah

Violet
Scarlet (I don't like but DH does!)
Summer (too corney for an August baby??)

OH and I are both teachers and find names very difficult. We like Penelope for our second, but we have a Polly already. Penny and Polly??? I'm not sure.

I really like Iris but OH hates it.

Boys names are the hardest for us. I like Arthur, Eddie or Teddy.

Hi everyone. Wow! Am totally overwhelmed by all the suggestions- thank you so much for your time, thoughts and suggestions Thanks [havibg emotional hormonal moment....]
You've listed well over 80 different girls names and 70 boys!
DH and I have been through the list and come up with the following names to chew over (doesn't mean we both like the name but one of us did!) I know some names may raise a few eyebrows and maybe aren't necessary filling our original criteria!!

Boys:
Blake (still there!)

Noah (getting popular I know but can't shake it off yet)

Blaize (DH LOVES this one Hmm
Xavier (have pointed out Xmen theme to DH which made him even more determined!)

How about Robin/Robyn if you're thinking superheroes -whether you have a DS2 or DD?

Lois was also a good suggestion; DH vetoed that Sad and in keeping with the superhero thang!

If you are a teacher and want to avoid names you will come across, then stay away from

Evelyn / Evie / Eva / Ava - I'm guessing you have to be a secondary teacher as it seems like every other girl is one of those variants!!

Noah, Finn, Dylan - whilst not on the Eve... scale, definitely becoming more popular and you will be teaching them soon.

Try the office of national statistic name list and look on the complete list for names outside the top 300. It's hard... I'm married to a teacher so can sympathise with the problem!

skirt- we already called our DS Logan Blush[runs away and hides my head in shame!]
shoopaloop- appreciate your honesty! DH likes Lois.
cheekyginger-Boo!!?? They must've been reading To Kill a Mocking bird!? I like Ruby but DH likes Scarlet so stalemate there!
Ava is lovely and Evan too- got an "hmmmmm" response from DH so need to let them simmer with him for a bit!

Can't believe how long our list of "possibles" is now! Thank you so much everyone! Grin
