Just wondering, in these times when 'old man' names are all the rage, what do we think of this?

erm (cough) 43, Howard Donald Grin

Eglu · 14/02/2012 20:25

Could be any age. I know loads, also in Scotland. I know one that is about 7.

I don't like it on young people though. Am English myself, and always think what an old person name it is when I hear a young person with it.

FrankiDon182 · 14/02/2012 20:19

My son is called Donnie ! It really suits him though i think! Hes 1yo and very cute and not at all scottish Wink

EmpressOfTheSevenOceans · 14/02/2012 20:16

The Donald I know is 62.

TunipTheVegemal · 14/02/2012 20:12

90s, because the only one I know is.

JekyllandHydeMum · 14/02/2012 20:10

Mmmmmm....had a teenage crush on Donnie Munro of Runrig. I think all the Donalds I know are in their 40s or older, but it would be fine as a baby's name, too.

Popoozle · 14/02/2012 20:09

Late 60's to 90's I would say. Definitely not one that transfers well to a baby.

startail · 14/02/2012 20:01

The only one I knew would be retired by now ~ 68

LittlePandaBear · 14/02/2012 19:58

Did no one else think of Howard Donald? Grin

40's.

blackteaplease · 14/02/2012 19:44

I went to school with a donald in the 90s nn Donnie, that was also in Scotland.

I like it

bigkidsdidit · 14/02/2012 19:44

I know four, from 60s down to a baby but I'm in Scotland too :)

mathanxiety · 14/02/2012 19:43

I think of the 20 something brother of a friend of DD2's, the only one I know under age 60.

Also a lot of American politicians of a certain age, and Don McClean, American Pie..

Antidote · 14/02/2012 19:43

In his 90's with a girlfriend in her 70's, living it up in a fab house full of antiques, drinking amazing wine & brandy, spending all his hard earned money on holidays to France and fine food.

I think its a great name, but I might be biased.

Sticklebug · 14/02/2012 19:42

About 60

SauvignonBlanche · 14/02/2012 19:41

I know a 40 yr old and a 4yr old.

DesperatelySeekingSedatives · 14/02/2012 19:36

About 60.

Althought to be honest the first thing I think of is a duck. I'm not a fan tbh. Of the duck, that is. Or the name.

VeronicaSpeedwell · 14/02/2012 19:36

67, with a baby blue Pringle jumper. Though I do know of a baby one.

Meglet · 14/02/2012 19:30

Trump.

Could do worse!

NiceViper · 14/02/2012 19:29

I thought Rumsfeld.

ScoutJemAndBoo · 14/02/2012 18:27

Lol just as well I am thick-skinned!

Donald is the same age as Donald Fisher, old headmaster of Summer Bay High in Home and Away. So about 112.

vitaminC · 14/02/2012 18:24

60s/70s
Not "old" enough to make a comeback just yet, I don't think...

ArielNonBio · 14/02/2012 18:23

About 55, with a ginger beard, sideburns and kilt.

freerangeeggs · 14/02/2012 18:23

I'd expect him to be a middle-aged man. I'm from Scotland but actually haven't known many.

I could see it on a younger person. I think Donnie is a really lovely nickname.

devonsmummy · 14/02/2012 18:23

Where's your trousers!
