Have always loved Eva/Evie, but it's too popular for me now. Was thinking of Leila, or would she still be 1 of 5 in the class?

I know quite a few - I think it is on the up, but nowhere near Eve/Evie proportions! I know an adult Leila, a 2 year old and 2 fairly new babies (1 is Layla). I do also know a Lila.

NotnOtter · 04/02/2012 22:31

i know a couple

startail · 04/02/2012 22:24

Non, only a Leah and a Lilia.

Go for it it's really pretty.
We have lots of Evie, Ella, Ellens . Leila sounds just different without being too different.

I only know one and she is 10 years old. I used to teach so have encountered hundreds of the younger generation and this is the only time I have come across it. It's a lovely name.

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 04/02/2012 22:18

One, about 4months old.

pinkmagic1 · 04/02/2012 22:14

Only know of 1 child called Leila, she is 6. It is one of my favourite names and we considered it for our DD.

Tmesis · 04/02/2012 22:14

mumofjust1 · 04/02/2012 22:08

I don't know any, but sil is due in August and has decided on Leila if it's a girl Smile

I think it's lovely

HouseworkProcrastinator · 04/02/2012 22:06

There is two in my street. only 24 houses... I also know of another one in my daughters year in school (reception). And one in the juniors. Think it is popular on our estate.

TheHumancatapult · 04/02/2012 22:02

BadPoet · 04/02/2012 21:59

One, 5yo, in my ds's year at school. Lovely name Smile.

ArielNonBio · 04/02/2012 21:56

I have reserved Leila for my firstborn daughter (yet to be conceived!)

HamblesHandbag · 04/02/2012 21:53

My neighbour's daughter (5) is Leila. It is a lovely name though!

mamasmissionimpossible · 04/02/2012 21:50

My ds (6) also has a Leila in his class and my dd has one in her preschool, so I know 3 under 7 years of age and 2 Leila's who are over 60. I think it is a name that is getting more common as where we live in the south east, I hear it called our a fair bit in parks etc..

bibbitybobbityhat · 04/02/2012 21:48

I only know one (aged 11) and I know an awful lot of people. Pretty name.

mamasmissionimpossible · 04/02/2012 21:48

I have a little Leila. She is lovely :o

wem · 04/02/2012 21:47

There are two in my dd's nursery class, though spelt in different ways I think. It's a lovely name.

singinginthelifeboats · 04/02/2012 21:47

My gorgeous goddaughter (aged 22) - she is beautiful and French/Algerian......

I vaguely know a little girl called Layla which is nice but I still much prefer the spelling Leila which I think is very unusual in the UK
