Are our final two a bit crap?

We've finally managed to narrow it down to two names for each sex, and I think we're going to wait to meet the baby before we choose the final name. However, I'm really worried that our final two are a bit crap! What do you think of them, are they useable and do you have a favourite? DS's are Otis and Monty.

Asha Genevieve
or
Romilly Abigail

Tor Zachary
or
Gray Isaac

Sorry I didn't read it either! Congrats and lovely name!

PopoonezerScrooge · 09/02/2012 22:04

Ah, that'll teach me to read to the very end of the thread! Congratulations! Grin

PopoonezerScrooge · 09/02/2012 22:03

How about Torin instead of Tor? You could then use Tor as a nn if you wanted to/if it came naturally.

Of your girls names I prefer Romilly - but not Abigail. Romilly Genevieve?

lyonheart · 09/02/2012 21:43

Congratulations! Beautiful name for a beautiful little baby.

IHeartKingThistle · 08/02/2012 23:15

Gray is a beautiful name.

beatofthedrum · 08/02/2012 23:08

Lovely news, lovely name...congratulations!

MadDash · 08/02/2012 20:26

Completely smitten, redrubyshoes! Although I'm sure I'll be feeling differently at 3 AM if the last few nights are anything to go by Wink

Sounds like a strange thing to say but smell her neck for me. The most gorgeous smell in the world!

[jealous]

Well done you and sit back and enjoy your baby! Grin

PopcornBiscuit · 08/02/2012 20:13

Congratulations! :)

redrubyshoes · 08/02/2012 20:13

I am thinking you are a tad smitten. Smile

MadDash · 08/02/2012 20:04

Very well thank you! Came home earlier today and she has been doted on non stop by her big brothers :)

Congratulations! How are you both?

MadDash · 08/02/2012 19:52

Asha Genevieve is here! She arrived on the 5th weighing in at 6lb 11oz. She is bloody gorgeous :o

Romilly Abigail is gorgeous and I really like Isaac and Zachary but less keen on others.

NatureAbhorsAHoover · 05/02/2012 15:30

Toa - my DNephew's name!! pronounced Tor. He's half NZ Maori, his siblings also have traditional Maori names.

Apparently it's unusual but not unknown... I love strong one-syllable names like Joe and Hugh so can see why my DB liked it.

TheCuntwormUnderfoot · 05/02/2012 15:19

Otis and Monty...

For a DS, how about Hector, Murdo, Heath, Jago?

TheCuntwormUnderfoot · 05/02/2012 15:15

Have a rethink. I think you are not convinced!

Romilly and Genevieve (Vivi is the nn of hte one I know) are brilliant, the rest are lacklustre.

ComposHat · 05/02/2012 02:26

Gray --> boring drab, lifeless, just like other posters I thought of John 'lovely peas, Norma' Major. He will get asked 'short for Graham?' for all of his born days.

Tor --> Sounds like someone who is really into Norse mythology or is in an 80s Scandanavian glam-metal band.

Call him John and be done with.

Genevieve --> I knew a Genevieve and she was absolutely barking and not in a good way either. That said I still like the name.

Rommily is really nice though.

mathanxiety · 05/02/2012 01:57

As a matter of fact, a tor is a high, bare, rocky hill.

Kellywestie · 05/02/2012 00:18

Love Romilly, very pretty name.
Tor is a fabulously strong name but I do love Scandinavian names (our DS has one).
Love Gray too, my friends DH is Graham but gets called Gray and he's a great guy.

duke · 05/02/2012 00:06

I love Grey. Go for it.

mathanxiety · 04/02/2012 21:07

Like Asha and Isaac or Zachary as first names. I prefer Romy to Romilly.

Tor seems to me to be a name for some cold looking Nordic giant with a demeanour to match.

Gray says 'terribly dull' or 'massive rock' imo.

ASByatt · 04/02/2012 20:36

Gray will always be associated with the colour grey, though - I can't get beyond the associations of blandness etc. Or middle aged men called Graham who are trying too hard to sound trendier (DH works with several like this)

Alligatorpie · 04/02/2012 18:46

Dd went to preschool with an Asha, her mom told me it meant Hope in Hindi ( she was white) and I thought it was a beautiful name - still do.
I love Genevieve and I also knew a Gray who I thought was pretty cool.
Don't like Tor though.

seeker · 04/02/2012 18:45

How about Beige? Or Taupe?
