I mean we haven't even decided if we are going to have number 3 ... but if we do, and if I had a boy I would love an Edward nicknamed Ted.

Everyone I have spoken has told me it's either too 'Posh' or too 'Old fashioned'.

I love it though. Do you?

No, it's not.

Why not?

ASByatt · 05/02/2012 18:28

Sorry to lower the tone. Blush

Edward is a lovely name.

ASByatt · 05/02/2012 18:28

Agatha "I'm trying to conceive at the moment and he's definitely going to be an Edward too"

wow, that's quite some multi-tasking - lucky you didn't drop your laptop/phone.......

Love it, trying to convince dsis to call new baby Eddie. He's 11 days old and still unnamed! :O)

MrsJohnDeere · 05/02/2012 13:53

Love it. One of mine has it as a middle name.

Bluestocking · 05/02/2012 13:39

Edward's a lovely name, and Ted/Teddy is a great nickname. I like all the Ed names - Edmund, Edwin, Edgar.

LineRunner · 05/02/2012 13:22

Edwin Aldrin's nickname was Buzz.

I rate it as cringingly dull, and Ted is just.. ugh. But it's also very popular, so I'm sure you'll get along fine people like me keep their opinions to selves in real life.

LynetteScavo · 05/02/2012 12:07

No, it's not.

muffinino82 · 04/02/2012 23:29

Edwin is also good.

muffinino82 · 04/02/2012 23:29

Lovely name and has some great nicknames. Especially love Teddy and Eddie, which was my grandfather's nn.

Slightly different, but just as lovely imo, is Edmund.

pilates · 04/02/2012 21:23

Yes it's a great name :)

bibbitybobbityhat · 03/02/2012 21:49

Reality: you do NOT have a cousin called Garth!. You don't ... not really Shock

Lizzylou · 03/02/2012 21:13

No Posey, but an ED sound.
Gary and Phil Neville's (ex-England footballers, both pkayed for Man Utd) Dad is called Neville Neville.

Imagine.

sphil · 03/02/2012 21:05

I have an Edward known as Ned. He has gone through phases of reverting to Edward and I think might use the full name when he gets older, but for the moment Ned suits him.

Hulababy · 03/02/2012 21:00

Lovely name. I like it with the nn Ned.

LynetteScavo · 03/02/2012 20:59

I think you have excellent taste.

DD would have been Edward. (smile)
