I really wanted to call a son Pelham. Some Georgette Heyer hero who caught my fancy when I was aged about 14.
And I had a yearning for a daughter called Bathsheba.
You?
I'm not talking credible or in with a chance. I'm talking about the lovely names you wanted but everyone were too dim to see their wonder.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Savannah
Saphira
Tallulah
Dylan

Still like all of them actually. Athough Saphira is a bit.. um.. oh well.

Christmas for a boy (Kit for short). Even the midwife when I was in labour said no to that one.

ChippingInLovesEasterEggs · 28/01/2012 21:50

Thank God for your DH's Grin

SucksToBeMe · 28/01/2012 21:46

Cory, But my brother said it was another word for Dickhead.

He is often heard saying "John/Dave/Paul your such a Cory"

hermionestranger · 28/01/2012 21:44

Blaize for a boy. But everyone else hated it. I also love Tabitha! No DD's though and DH hates it. Sad

ImpOfThePerverse · 28/01/2012 21:41

Phoenix or Apollo.

I did use a name which has been mentioned on this thread for DS2.

It is probably a good thing I am not having more DC as I do rather like the idea of an Oberon or Orlando (can't even blame pregnancy hormones for this!). Grin

nooka · 28/01/2012 21:39

We wanted Ezra for our second. We spent weeks trying to think of something else because we thought it might be a bit much, finally decided on Richard Ezra (which I still think is fab) and then we had dd Grin dh ended up calling his server Ezzie instead...

earlyriser · 28/01/2012 21:34

I wanted Stroma or Morven for a girl still do

HalleLouja · 28/01/2012 21:32

I liked Eleni but was poo poo-ed by DH. I am Greek he isn't. Quite liked Irini too but more as a middle name. In fact lots of my more Greek names were written off.

I also loved Ben for a boy but couldn't use that either.

Ohgoonthenpouranother · 28/01/2012 21:23

Reuben. DH decided it sounded gay wtf?
DS name mentioned upthread tho !
Wanted Stanley but scared of child with lisp
Also wanted Thane (shakeospeare) it's a Scottish surname. Too scared. Still love it

aftereight · 28/01/2012 21:11

Benedict.
Had DS been a girl, Tabitha or Meredith

SoozyWoozy · 28/01/2012 21:08

I always wanted Shannon for a girl and Charleston for a boy. None of my DDs are Shannon and I don't have a DS, but wouldn't use Charleston now!

Bruce, I was obssessed by but everyone hated it. haha. Good job - my ds is not a Bruce at all. :)

Fleecy · 28/01/2012 20:59

My name is on here, as is DS and also my DD2's middle name.

I wanted Hero for DD1 (another Georgette Heyer fan) but DH thought it was crazy. And then Myleene used it anyway.

Mirage · 28/01/2012 20:48

Toby- DH once had a tortoise called Toby and said we couldn't name a child after a pet.
Malachai
Artemis
Damaris-all met with much eye rolling and mutterings about how 'we don't live in Islington, those names are too pretentious for around here'.

mydadsdaughter · 28/01/2012 19:16

elvis
clement

Lonnie · 28/01/2012 19:14

Aida and Lakme' dh refused Lakme' and talked me out of Aida (I still love both)

Always loved Sebastian for a boy but dh would not be moved on that one.

Xanadudoo · 28/01/2012 18:55

Lasairfhiona - Gaelic girl's name pronounced 'Lasarina'

DH laughed in my face

LineRunner · 28/01/2012 18:49

My (now Ex) husband vetoed

Eric
Robert
John
Edmund
Geno
Denny (don't ask)

Grace
Mamie
Nancy

Loralei

festi · 28/01/2012 18:34

Damian
Cibela

QueenPodling · 28/01/2012 18:30

I had my heart set on Atticus but DH absolutely refused. Also liked Osric. That also got vetoed.

Theonewiththehair · 28/01/2012 18:29

Dh wanted to call ds2 Esteban. No way I was going with that. :)

Bluestocking · 28/01/2012 18:17

I rather loved Merlin when I was PG. DP wouldn't even talk about it. I asked a colleague what he thought and he said "I blame the hormones".

rrrayray · 28/01/2012 18:16

Ariella
