Molly
Emily
Cassie
Jessica
Eva
Jasmine
Hannah

Which would you go for? How do they sound/ come across to you? And do you think they will suit our DD as an adult? We are name numpties and don't have a clue. Many thanks

Hannah. By a country mile. Beautiful name.

Hajdeby · 23/01/2012 13:08

I have a (grown up) friend called Cassie and it really suits her, have never known a child called Cassie so I think its fine as a grown up name.

Never heard of a dog called Cassie either. Its hardly the girl equivalent of Rover, is it!?

Pictish, you mean you know someone with a dog called Cassie. I would never have associated Cassie with a dog. It's the most unusual one on the list and very pretty. Not sure how it would sound on an adult so best go for Cassandra as others have suggested.

I like them all but would personally avoid Molly and Eva because there are so many at baby and toddler groups locally, of course there might be fewer near you.

pictish · 23/01/2012 12:47

All very popular except Cassie, which is a dog's name.

Love Emily, Jessican, Hannah

Eva, jasmine, Molly very, very popular here....

Montsti · 23/01/2012 12:37

I like Molly and Emily a lot and they are both fine for adults. For some reason find Molly less nicknamey/cutesy than Milly/Lilly/Evie etc...I wouldn't let popularity put you off..

Not keen on your other names.

minipie · 23/01/2012 12:01

I like them all except Hannah (which I am unusual in not liking!).

A couple of them are "nicknames" so I would want a proper name on the birth cert - so Cassandra nn Cassie, Mary nn Molly. That way she could use the more adult sounding name when she was older/for job purposes etc.

Molly - kitchen maid, popular few years ago
Emily - ok, a but boring
Cassie - LIKE IT, LIKE IT
Jessica - v pop recently, but also a classic
Eva - v pop again
Jasmine - too girly, there's 2 in ds1's class!
Hannah - love it

How about Miriam? I love that name too.

PopcornBiscuit · 23/01/2012 11:04

Molly - not keen, nicknamey and faddy
Emily - lovely, classic (do you mind popular though?)
Cassie - very pretty, but sounds nicknamey so would use Cassandra as full name or go for Cassia
Jessica - like
Eva - OK but Eve/Eva/Ava/Evie very popular
Jasmine - like
Hannah - like, classic

poppydaisy · 23/01/2012 11:02

They all sound very 'trendy'. If I had to choose, probably Hannah.
