Tabitha goes well with Phoebe and Martha. But both Eleanor and Anna are lovely. Xanthe?

Shoutymomma · 20/01/2012 22:24

Paloma is an easter name??
I know too many Eleanor's. Lots of suggestions for Julia but no Juliet??

woolly76 · 20/01/2012 22:20

Anna, classic timeless not too many

GRW · 20/01/2012 22:09

I like Anna very much, but prefer Helena to Eleanor, which could still be shortened to Nell.

DesertOrchid · 20/01/2012 21:56

Norah, Harriet, Beatrice, Alice, Laura, Juliet, Rhiannon.

scrummummy · 20/01/2012 21:45

I know an Eleanor so wouldnt chose it but like Eleanora

My DDs are named after grandmothers for middle names and as my DH is from French origin which makes it difficult when naming DCs with our surname. I would seriously think about your surname then find a name that works.

Teacup- I cant think of Cordelia without thinking of Buffy

I have a Gisele Yulia and a Nataliya Marguerite from French and Russian Heritage

I wanted Ilona, Elodie, Ilana or Tabitha but was shot down.
Choose something you want that may or not be fashionable (my DD2 I wanted Emelia but Amelia was so popular we went for DH granny's name)

Thank g-d I had girls as we really couldnt agree on boys names

Oubliette0292 · 20/01/2012 21:35

I like Eleanor (and Phoebe and Martha too).

How about Caroline or Josephine?

I think Diana is a pretty name, which is due for a revival.

Teacup23 · 20/01/2012 11:06

Eleanor is a beautiful name and even shortened to Ellie it still sounds pretty. It's also ageless.

My favourites are Verity, Imogen and Cordelia but not likely to have a girl now!

Phoebe and Martha are lovely too!

lauraloveskitsch · 20/01/2012 00:55

Just to say DD1 is not named Eleanor/Ellen and neither is DD2.

lauraloveskitsch · 20/01/2012 00:55

Eleanor is very very nice. A candidate for DD1's name as her great great grandmother is Ellen.

makinglemonade · 20/01/2012 00:53

Phoebe, Martha & Eleanor :) Lovely trio of names, lucky little girls

7bluebell · 19/01/2012 23:59

Yeah, I am with you on Ellie - too cutesy.

ReneeVivien · 19/01/2012 23:57

Oh, Julia is lovely.

manicinsomniac · 19/01/2012 23:55

I like Anna and Eleanor (don't like Ellie though which most Eleanors seem to turn into)

What about:
Alice, Alexandra, Bethany, Clara, Charlotte, Daisy, Elsa, Esme, Florence, Helena, Iris, Ivy, Juliette, Julia, Katherine, Lara, Rebecca, Rachel, Sarah, Sorrell, Violet.

7bluebell · 19/01/2012 23:52

Thank you JestersHat. I was worried that both are a little too boring but maybe you are right and I shouldn't look any further. Middle names??!!

I like Delilah but honestly I would be put off by the Tom Jones link.

ReneeVivien · 19/01/2012 23:50

I love Anna. Also Lydia, Rachel, Delia, Talia.

7bluebell · 19/01/2012 23:48

What about Delilah? Not sure if I am brave enough... sort of thing they could hate in years to come.

JestersHat · 19/01/2012 23:46

Anna and Eleanor are both lovely - look no further :)

7bluebell · 19/01/2012 23:45

Thanks, I love Grace Iris and florence but surname starts Se and can sound a bit "hissy" with the ce endings!
