Tabitha or Ursula?

Just like my Kit or Reuben thread, I thought I'd throw my girl names out there!

Pick one:

Tabitha (possible nicknames of Tabi or Bee... or none)
or
Ursula (nn. Lulu or Ursh)*

*Please be a bit gentle with me about this name (hormal, just pregnant, sick and miserable lady here) - I'm aware of the sea witch, aware that some find it clunky, but I love it and my husband is 100% on board with it :)

Ursula

can ursula be pronounced two ways - with an 's' sounds and with a 'sh' sound? - or is this a daft question? I'd try to avoid names with pronounciation issues myself e.g. esme, helena, josie etc

I love Ursula - strong, unusual, pretty

Tabitha says cat to me I'm afraid

Ursula.

ThompsonTwins · 18/01/2012 05:08

You can't decree what other children will call her - I know an Ursula who is called Ursy and knew a Tabitha who was called Cat by her friends. Bee is lovely, though (but might become Buzz)

persephoneplum · 18/01/2012 05:03

No, I like the names equally! :)

You sound like you prefer Ursula

tilbatilba · 18/01/2012 04:44

I love Tabitha...cousin Ursula but called Lulu and do like nn but not keen on Ursula. Bee is cute! Also know a 94 yr old Bee and that suits her too!

persephoneplum · 18/01/2012 03:30

Yes, Ursula - it's a powerful, totally legit name with a magnificent history :/

I'd choose Tabitha - only because I can't imagine naming a baby Ursula. Ursula?

Offspring · 18/01/2012 02:37

Of the two, I prefer Ursula :)
