Okay, just not a fan of old lady chic or just trying to fit in the plethora of odd names coming into fashion right now? Oops we juod forbid :P 5 each :D
female: sophia, gabriella, maria, caitlinn, aimee, amelia
male: JACK, connor, liam, thomas, marcus, lucas

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

The girls names are fine, but FGS spell them correctly, Amy, Caitlin. Otherwise it's a bit tacky. The boys names are all fine as well, but I personally don't like Liam or Connor - usually the little boy with the earring.

AlpinePony · 13/01/2012 04:43

Aimee is a perfectly legitimate spelling!

bananarama05 · 13/01/2012 04:51

Like all your girls names except maybe caitlinn, but wouldn't go so far to say I hate it.

I know an aimee and she's lovely!

Have to agree liam and Connor sound like trouble makers, sorry! I also don't like Lucas much.

Sorry for complete lack of punctuation, am on my phone and its 4.45am so frankly I'm not putting the effort in!

Like all the girls names except Caitlinn and Aimee...not keen on the boys names other than Jack, Thomas and Lucas.

hugebump3 · 13/01/2012 11:52

The only name I really like is Marcus. Not keen on the others, sorry.

But thankfully we all have different tastes - wouldn't it be dull if we all chose the same names?

Littlecherublegs · 13/01/2012 11:56

Think we have similar taste! Most are fine IMO.

I like Sophia and Caitlin (Sophie and Caitlin are on our shortlist!)

Boys wise, I like Marcus and Lucas (Marc is on our shortlist for a middle name and although not a massive fan of Liam, Leon is one of our favs!)

ahhhhhpushit · 13/01/2012 12:09

Sophia love but Sophie super popular
Gabriella love
Maria ok
Caitlinn nice when spelt properly but quite popular
Aimee ok but boring
Amelia nice but very popular

Jack super boring
Connor chavvy sorry!
Liam as above
Thomas nice, traditional
Marcus nice
Lucas ok

Favourites would be Gabriella and Thomas.

winterland · 13/01/2012 12:29

Love Sophia and Amelia
Gabriella will be shortened I imagine
You'll be constantly spelling Aimee

Jack is too common I think, as is connorband Liam. Only really like Thomas from your boys list

EdithWeston · 13/01/2012 12:36

I think the loveliest by far are Sophia and Marcus.

kreecherlivesupstairs · 13/01/2012 12:52

Marcus and Lucas for boys, any of the girls names except Aimee. Maybe because I prefer Amy as a spelling, but don't really like the name.

othersideofchannel · 13/01/2012 12:53

None grab me but if I had to choose then Gabrielle and Lucas.

OrmIrian · 13/01/2012 12:55

Like marcus and thomas. None of the others particularly. And all the girls names are a bit frilly for me - apart from maybe amelia.

ihaveforgottenmyname · 13/01/2012 15:00

Sophia- Is a brilliant name much better than Sophie!
The other names I am not keen on and are overused. Out of the boys names I love them all especially Connor my DS1's name he looked liked a Connor when he was born and he is not a trouble maker nor does he or will he have a earring in!!

lisaro Aimee is different than Amy not the same pronunciation at all, it is just an other name and spelt correctly. (well technically as it is of french origin there should be an accent on the 1st e)
sophia and maria,
jack and marc rather than marcus?

FetaCheeny · 13/01/2012 20:12

sophia - much prefer sophie but over-used
gabriella - love this
maria - not bothered either way
caitlinn - pretty but not so keen on the spelling
aimee - like this and prefer this spelling to Amy
amelia - pretty name but again over-used

male:
Jack - like
connor - dislike
liam - dislike
thomas - Really like this (tommy for a baby)
marcus - not keen
lucas - not keen

My faves would be gabriella or Aimee and Thomas

Bellabellaaa · 13/01/2012 21:49

What's wrong with Connor and Liam? Beware English Mumsnetters who have an unconscious prejudice against Irish/Scottish names - seen it over and over... boring. Give me a Connor over a Quentin any day, Jeeesus.

FetaCheeny · 13/01/2012 22:03

I'm not prejudiced. I love Irish names. In fact my dp is Irish so our first DS (if we have one) will have an Irish name. I think I just associate Liam in particularly with a thug I knew at school, and Connor is a friends surname, so I see it as a surname.
