I am looking for a name which will complement my two boys' names. I don't know what I'm having yet but, while we've got lots of girls' ideas,we're strugling with boys names. Thanks!

Thanks for your suggestions, Blue and persephone. I don't really like Ambrose, but I do like Felix very much. Unfortunately dh doesn't.

The adult Sebastian I know, gets the nickname Bas (pr. Baz) which I think is great.

How about Felix or Theodore?

I'm also pregnant with #3 and Reuben will be our #3 boy name (if baby is a boy), so I'm putting my sons' names out there for you as I think they go together beautifully. Quentin would be on my list but my husband doesn't agree.

Ambrose

Grin at Adrian. Lovely sensible name.

Fo0ffyShmo0ffer · 13/01/2012 10:55

First name to pop into my head was James.

hugebump3 · 13/01/2012 10:54

Thanks for all your suggestions. Top runners are now Benedict, Ivan, Magnus and Adrian. I agree that Sebastian sound goods with Reuben and Quentin, but I'm still 'working on' liking the nicknames (as it's too long not to get shortened). Hmm, we we've got some time to think about it....

My first thought was also Sebastian

hugebump3 · 12/01/2012 18:32

Thanks again ladies. Also liking Adrian. And Solomon although this would probably end up as Sol (and therefore much shorter than the other two..).

Will see what dh thinks tonight. Thanks for your suggestions so far!

Sebastian could be shortened to Bashi or Bash. DH had a colleague called Bash.
I would go for Duncan or Adrian or Gavin. Dull I know.

hugebump3 · 12/01/2012 14:20

Thanks RightUp Smile. I do like the sound of Tristan but it unfortunately always reminds me of triste (sad).

...and Tristan.

Lovely names.

hugebump3 · 12/01/2012 14:18

Ha, ha, yes we could have an alphabetical Q,R, S combination Smile - not sure we really love any S names. I do like Sebastian, but am not keen on Seb or Sebby.

Thanks Ladies! Some lovely suggestions. I like Magnus, Benedict, Raphael, Hugo and Ivan in particular and will add them to our list. I like the sound of Fabian too but it reminds me of the Fabian society.

gazzalw, do you mean the name needs to be two syllables to 'match' the others? Would Reuben, Quentin & Benedict or Reuben, Quentin & Hugo sound odd?

OP posts:
CrotchFlakes · 12/01/2012 14:13

It would be nice to have an S (Q, R, S) and end in an en/in sound

Sebastian
er ......
Stella

Of those already listed I like Gideon and Silas.

Methe · 12/01/2012 14:04

Hugo
Fabian
Lucien?

gazzalw · 12/01/2012 14:02

Tarquin or Fabian - it's got to be a name of the same ilk....
