i am fairly early on in pregnancy with dc2, but i can think of no names i like whatsoever.

dh has made umpteen suggestions, i either dislike them or they don't go with the middle & surname. i like to know in advance what i'm calling the baby, makes it seem more real to me.

so, suggestions for both genders please :)

sorry, i don't like any of those Blush

or rather, it's not that i don't like them, i'm ambivalent towards them. i neither like nor dislike, & that's the problem with near enough every name i've had suggested.

i wish i could just hear a name, go "yes, that's THE ONE" & that'd be the end of it.

I meant Jessamine (or Jessamyn), sorry.

Stellan · 30/03/2012 10:49

Congratulations on your baby girl! I've only glanced through the older messages so I apologise if some of these are off the mark.

Personally, I think Violet is a lovely name and nearly every name you shout sounds whiny and awful.

Some suggestions (including a fair few flower names):
Anwen
Aster
Azalea
Ayla
Bronwen
Delphine or Delphina
Dahlia
Dinah
Flora
Garland
Georgia
Honora
Iris
Isadora
Isis
Jasmine or Jesamine
Louisa
Lucia
Madigan
Maren
Mirren
Olwen
Paloma
Seraphina or Serafina
Siena
Tanwen
Violetta

I think Mirren is prettier-sounding than Morven and might be a good choice for you.

Some Italian names - Adelina, Alessandra (which I adore), Amalia, Artemisia, Clelia, Cosima, Clementina, Elisabetta, Gemma, Guiliana, Lia, Lidia, Mariella, Susanna, Vittoria, Viviana

GlitterySkulls · 30/03/2012 10:31

we found out last week this baby is a girl.

however, my mum & mil have both put me off our chosen name of morvern.

we briefly considered violet, but then we were watching a telly prog & some woman was shouting "viiiiiii-luuuuuttttttt, viiiiiiiiiiii-oooooooooooooo-lluutttttttttt" in a really awful accent & put me off that too.

HELP PLEASE !!

sorry, none of these are really striking me.

we have our girls name sorted,(which pretty much guarantee's this one's a boy Grin ) so it's just a boy's name we need.

i have trawled umpteen baby name sites, & i don't like anything .

millions of names in the world, there must be one out there i like.

For girls names

Ava

Ds 2 is due in 7 weeks and we haven't even got a short list!

GlitterySkulls · 21/02/2012 17:53

ok folks, so we're still no further forward.

i don't like any boys names whatsoever.

dh sick of me rejecting his ideas.

i'm sick of him coming up with names he doesn't even like just in the vain hope i'll actually like it.

any more suggestions, please?

zhen- thanks for all your suggestions, unfortunately none of them are grabbing me. (do we have a pita emoticon Grin ) i know marley's a boys name, but everyone round here seems to think its a girls name, & use it as one. annoying, but i don't want my son getting teased for it. plus, since that film, it also has doggy connotations for me.

Do you want me to stop yet? :o

GlitterySkulls · 18/01/2012 01:39

i like morgan, but round here it seems to be used for girls for some reason Confused i know its a boys name. same as marley, i love that name, but it seems to be used for girls here.

i do like ryan, but the surname begins with r & i don't like alliteration.
