Baby no.5 is 5 wks old and still has no name Sad We've sort of got a short list but I can't say she looks like any of them or that I love any of them but we're getting desperate. What do you think or any suggestions very welcome.
Louisa (don't like Lou)
Imogen
Harriet
Felicity

We're trying to avoid top 20 names and our surname is Clark which rules out my favourite name Clara

Weird, the first name that popped into my head before I even opened the thread was Rosa! Confused

FatimaLovesBread · 13/01/2012 21:18

Have you managed to pick a name yet pottypit?

Bridie, obv.

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 11/01/2012 20:14

Of your list I prefer Imogen or Felicity (both would be on my shortlist if I had a girl) Have you tried her out with nicknames for your favourites? E.g. Flick / Fliss, Immy, Hatty?

Other ideas...

Verity Rose Clark
Cora Rose Clark (Cora was mentioned on another thread recently, I think it's lovely and similar to Clara but without the 'Clar' repetition?)
Edith (nn Edie) Rose Clark
Erin Rose Clark
Emily Rose Clark

Ladyemem · 11/01/2012 18:59

imogen's the best name choice but it may get shortened to immie. which is cute. Like Rosa Clarke too. my sugggestion Mia Rose Clarke

Papyrus · 11/01/2012 18:40

I think we have similar taste in names. My DDs are Eliza, Annie and Clara and we've shortlisted all your choices at some point or another. We were planning on shortening Louisa to 'Lucy' so prehaps that's an option.

Currently expecting DC5 and our girls list current contains

Louisa
Estella
Agnes
Ada
Martha

JestersHat · 11/01/2012 13:14

Louisa Clark - best of the list :)
Imogen Clark - not so keen
Harriet Clark - too consonant-heavy
Felicity Clark - lovely :)

MudAndGlitter · 11/01/2012 12:39

Tinkerbell is nice Smile

BlueChampagne · 11/01/2012 12:38

I knew a Louisa called Weezie, but that might not be any better than Lou! But Louisa shouldn't need shortening within the family, and you won't be able to govern playground abbreviations without her help.

I also like (and think would go with Clarke):
Meredith
Meryl
Tamsin
Kirsten/Kirsty
Leonie

rebecklet · 11/01/2012 12:36

I really like Harriet and Harriet Rosa sounds lovely.

MudAndGlitter · 11/01/2012 12:04

Imogen is lovely.

PuraVida · 11/01/2012 12:03

I have a name that's alliterative, not dissimilar to Clara Clarke and I like it so much I'm keeping it when (if) I get married

I think Clara Clarke sounds lovely Smile

missboots · 11/01/2012 11:56

Lara is lovely. Lara Clark sounds great imo.

4madboys · 10/01/2012 21:00

i like felicity, it was a possibility for my dd! she is a merryn which we love :)

other possibles were genevieve, meredith, eliza or bonnie :)

TheHouseofMirth · 10/01/2012 20:49

I'm assuming you want us to suggest other names in a similar style to those you've listed otherwise you would have already chosen one of them? (Although I do like Felicity and Harriet).

Audrey
Elizabeth (Betsy or Libby for short + lots of other diminutives to choose from)
Margaux/Margot
Miranda
Isabella

FWIW I have a name similar to Louisa and no-one ever shortens it to Lou.

What are your other DC called?

FatimaLovesBread · 10/01/2012 20:33

What about Elouisa?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 10/01/2012 20:31

Love all of them but Harriet is my favourite (wanted it for dd2 but dp didn't like it).

You are right to rule out Clara. Clara Clark sounds ridiculous, I'm afraid.

Harriet Louisa is a lovely combo.

rocket74 · 10/01/2012 20:29

I love Harriet.
other suggestions

Luella?

i also love Clara and like it when first and second names are similar.
I have known a William (bill) Williams and a Sam Samuels and they seem ok with it!

flopsy1974 · 10/01/2012 20:26

Imogen and Harriet are both lovely Smile

pottypit · 10/01/2012 20:25

Thanks for your replies, we've called her different names to try them out and she was Tinkerbell for Christmas which is the only name her 3yr old brother likesSmile
Rose keeps weirdly coming up, we went to see Santa and I asked if the baby could have a name for Christmas and he suggested rose. Then for Christmas she was given a soft toy who had a label saying my name is Rosa. But Dh says no.... Middle name maybe

chocjunkie · 10/01/2012 20:13

imogen :) it is lovely!

squeak2392 · 10/01/2012 20:02

My favourite is Imogen, but they're all lovely (although I wouldn't use Louisa if you feel that way about Lou and you don't love it).

My first thought was Scarlett, but I'm not sure about Scarlett Clark.

cece · 10/01/2012 19:52

I think any of those names are lovely, including Clara.

Other suggestions;

Helena
Emma
Claudia
Anna
Verity
