Does this name suit an adult?

Molly. I have heard a few people say that although they think it's a nice name, it's not suitable for an adult.

I understand what they're saying but surely no one has actually gone up to Molly Ringwald and told her that she doesn't suit her name. Don't people just become their names? What is everyone's opinion?

People will get used to any name on an adult imo. Personally I find the name Margaret or Mary much more elegant than Molly, whether for a 3, 12, 35 or 70 year old.

Dh gran was called molly, but had Mary on her birth certificate. In answer to your question, she suited her name, even at 87 years old. I love it btw.

Tell a lie, I knew another one, friend of my grandmother who was in her 80's when she died a few years back. That's 2-1 to elderly Mollys :)

I know 2 Mollys. One is 12 months and one is 70-odd. Both suit the name very well.

Well all the little toddler Molly's will be adults one day, and then it will be a common/usual adult name anyway.

Or go with Margaret or Mary as the given name and use Molly.

Fine name. THe deputy head at the kids primary was a Molly and non the worse for it.Fair few older ladies too about with the name.

Ty it out with a few "professional tags"

"Could i make and Appointment will Molly XXXX at the solictors please " etc sounds fine to me.

Its a toddler name. Along with Poppy, Daisy and Milly great for the under 5s but cringeworthy in a professional woman. But think am on my own in this view considering the hordes of toddlers with these names.
