What are the hip Londoners & jet set calling their 2012 babies?

Just wondering what the posh Londoners & jet setters are calling their new babies as these are always the names that trickle into the main stream in a few months. A friend of mine is a midwife in a private London hospital & she said the following are really gaining popularity

Boy

  • Arlo
-Otto -Casper

Girls
-Fleur
-Ottolie(never heard this before!!!)
-Florence

She said in the upper class William, Edward still used commonly for boys as middle names. Charlotte, Isabella, Poppy for girls

Can you add anymore up & coming names?I'm sure there are plenty of threads like this I'm just too lazy to look!!!) Find it fascinating & I love the way high society types get away with names the majority of us find somewhat bizarre!!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

It's a few years since I moved out the eastend meeja playground that I used to inhabit so these days most of my friends seem to have terribly middle class names for their babies.

3 out of 4 of my DC's have been named on this thread and the eldest only misses out by virtue of her once raise an eyebrow name is now common as muck Shock

FriggFRIGG · 11/01/2012 16:04

I love the name Albie...Arlo was nearly an Albie Smile

ReneeVivien · 11/01/2012 15:58

I like both Sharon and Tracy. Not Shazza and Tray, though Smile

ilooklikegrotbagstoday · 11/01/2012 15:52

I wouldn't mind not being a hipster at all but decidedly non hipster is another story Wink. Mine's an Albie btw. We chose it because it's an old family name. Hadn't heard of a single one when he was born 4 years ago so was trying to steer away from popular or hipster names but there seems to be a few younger Albies in this area now.

Starshaped · 11/01/2012 14:38

I meant it in the nicest way ilooklike - I'm not sure being a hipster is really a compliment?! All the mums that I know with Berties are just nice and 'normal' IYKWIM and not too cool for school!

bigbluebump · 11/01/2012 14:35

I agree Sharon is a nice name but fear it may be a few more years before it loses its associations i.e. for our children to find it 'new' and 'hip' again Smile.

I'm surprised to see Quentin mentioned a few times. We named ours 6 years ago when it wasn't very popular here (although it had been in top 10 in France, where dh is from).

BleatingRose · 11/01/2012 14:18

I do love the name Arlo actually- wanted it for DS, but DH vetoed sadly.

Linerunner - Mitford seems like a girls name to me, for some reason Grin

ilooklikegrotbagstoday · 11/01/2012 13:48

Goodness Starshaped, i hope i'm not one of the decidedly none hipster parents at one of your groups!

SardineJam · 11/01/2012 13:24

I've come across about 3 little Sallys born in the past few months

mary626 · 11/01/2012 13:17

I know a young Kay. That really impressed me. So afashionable it has to be stylish, surely.

PuffPants · 11/01/2012 09:34

Latest cool dude born round here was called Johnny, but he's John on his bc.

I think it's genius, uncommon yet not
unusual. Helps that he's v.cute too.

Last girl was called Emily.

Bonsoir · 11/01/2012 08:27

If you like Clementine but think it is too popular, how about Capucine?

EssentialFattyAcid · 11/01/2012 07:54

Satsuma is a good alternative

My niece has one of those names you rotters have made up in your joke lists. Poor litle mite. I can't call it out when i am with her Blush. I call her by her initial. e.g if her name was 'Duvel' it's worse I'd call out 'Dee!'
