Or do you associate it with Stimpy?

Have to say, am totally and utterly stumped with girls names this time.

Wren - is that even a name??

It looks very harsh, is difficult to pronounce properly in many languages (especially phonetic germanic languages who'd pronounce the W) and sounds harsh to my ears, sorry.

I would have thought it is a boys name before this thread actually.

My DD is called Ren, we needed a name that was known in English, French and Japanese.

The kanji for my DD's name means lotus blossom. There is another kanji which means love.

The only down side is that Ren means radish in Serbian!

Wren is a little delicate bird - fine if she is little and delicate but maybe wouldn't suit everyone!

I agree there are nicer names.

No, Molly, they are tiny, drab little insignificant squeaky things that you don't even notice until they perform. Perfect role model for the women of the future.

I know an adult Ren, short for Karen.
You can also have Wren as a nickname for Jenny.

And are "pretty and sweet" the characteristics we want most in out girls? Particularly when they become women?

I think it is daft as a name.

Having said that, it is DDs nickname, short for Seren (and never have you met a child less like a wren!).

It's definitely a good alternative middle name - so many have Rose, Grace or May.

I desperately want to call our baby girl Wren... I love it with all my heart but hubby hates it! Which makes me really really sad Sad

We both like Ella but I'm still campaigning for Wren... I'm kind of hoping that when she's born she'll just look like a Wren and Hubby will think so too!!

I love it! It was top of my list for DD2 for a long time! If a DD3 ever comes along I might just have to use it! GO for it, with the W.

Ah Dee how strange its you Smile I NEVER come on baby names but saw the name and had to come and say what a beautiful name I think Wren is.

I met someone called it the other week and she was lovely and quirky and I've been thinking what a gorgeous name ever since. Definitely with the W.
