yes that is far enough away i grant you permission to use my daughters name Grin

i guess a virtue name would fit with your theme tho.

and yes names are very tricky, they should just come out with a little nametag already attached save all this angst!

patsdeadfrank · 05/01/2012 12:37

god yes crossroad i had forgotten!

i'm brighton 4 so i think we are good distance wise Grin. my other girls are faith and grace so virtue names are a bit of a given in this house and my son is gabriel so have set a bit of a precedent there (slight face palm).
honor is dp fav so far but i am not convinced i do like merryn a lot.
its a tricky business this name malarkey.

if i had to choose another name of your list it would probably be Seren, i know a lovely little Seren :)

Ava - doesn't do it for me, but currently a very popular name
Beth - like, but as nn for Elizabeth (or Bethany): doesn't quite seem 'finished' by itself
Celeste - I think of the ship, so wouldn't use it
Constance - lovely
Dawn - not to my taste
Evangeline - shrieks proselytising Christian, are you OK with that?
Glory - no, sorry
Harmony - no
Honor - like
Hope - OK
Joy - OK
Lilliana - OK
Lorna - lovely
Mercy - not to my taste
Merry - more of a nn?
Merryn - lovely
Neve - no
Noelle - Crossroads (even after all this time!)
Seren - prefer Serena

I'm rather biased about Seren though.

4madboys · 05/01/2012 12:29

however i shall be all possesive and say you cant use it if you live near me, i am in norfolk! Grin

SoupDragon · 05/01/2012 12:29

I don't like "virtue" names so I'd rule out Glory, Joy, Hope, Honor, Harmony and Mercy.
Is Neve just a bad spelling of Niamh? If so I"d rule that out.
Noelle seems too Christmassy
Lilliana I don't like

4madboys · 05/01/2012 12:26

well i would say Merryn, purely because that is my dd's name Grin there arent very many of them about and we always get lots of positive comments and questions about where we got it from, its cornish but we just liked it and both agreed on it :)

patsdeadfrank · 05/01/2012 12:19

hahahaha hence the problem.
