DH has just suggested Darcy for DC2 if it's a girl. Xmas Shock He's not normally so 'left' field, been hell bent on Beatrice for yonks..DH reckons it's different like Honor yet not unheard off! I don't dislike it, just not sure.

Honor and Darcy, Darcy and Honor..does it work? Confused

Your thoughts please?

Don't like Darcey at all. It is a bit Jilly Cooper heroine as nooka says. Love Beatrice (and Honor) though.

spottyscarf · 31/12/2011 12:20

Don't like Darcy sorry- one of those names that seems to have suddenly become popular very quickly so I suspect it will become dated.

Love Honor though, good choice first time round! Grin

I really like Honor, but I'm not keen on Darcy. Too surname for me and it has a bit of a Jilly Cooper feel to it. I like Beatrice (we have one on the family).

AmandaWJ · 30/12/2011 23:15

really not keen on Darcy, its become a bit of a 'chav' name round our neck of the woods.

Honor and Beatrice are lovely names though and aren't that common :)

MudAndGlitter · 30/12/2011 23:15

I like Beatrice and I prefer Dulcie to Darcey

MrsOzz · 30/12/2011 23:12

I think Darcy is gorgeous.

Much prettier than Beatrice. Personally I think Beatrice is ugly and can't understand why it's getting so many mentions recently.

If you don't like the arse bit, how about Dulcie?

The "arse" bit for me is an issues...will work on it.

But I agree with you Waps..DD is a very happy little thing, not sure we'll be lucky again with Jaffacakehips Mark2!!

I love the name Darcy, a bit so so about Honor. I really don't like Beatrice and I think there will also be the association with the Royal Beatrice. Her and her sister are always being ridiculed. At least with Darcy there is a positive association with Darcy Bussell - a very elegant lady.

Eglu · 30/12/2011 22:12

I like Darcy. Dh suggested it for DD, but we went with something else in the end.

waps · 30/12/2011 22:11

I like it, goes well will Honor but rhymes with Arsey. She would have to have the sunniest nature to avoid being called Arsey Darcy.

TheOriginalNutcracker · 30/12/2011 22:10

I like it, and it goes well imo.

Not keen on Beatrice

ThatsNotSantasBabyBelly · 30/12/2011 22:07

I don't like it, I like Honor though, and Beatrice.
