Esme and something. I don't like Sofia and am not over-fond of Thea but don't think it should be another E name. Esme and Hester / Esme and Harriet / Esme and Violet.

Lucas and Jacob = lovely! :)

HettyAmaretti · 13/12/2011 20:14

Benjamin & Felix

Thea & Emmeline

HettyAmaretti · 13/12/2011 20:15

Oh yes, Esme and Violet is lovely.

Felix & Casper?

coronet · 13/12/2011 20:22

I love your names.

Girls: Thea, Esme, Violet and Emmeline are all fab. Sofia = v common now, and Holly I don't much like. Emilia is nice but I prefer your other E names.

Boys: Lucas. Thomas, Jacob, Ewan are all fab. Like Benjamen; don't get the popularity of Felix/

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 13/12/2011 20:31

Lucas & Jacob
Emmeline & Thea

PeanutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 13/12/2011 23:19

Lovely names not so keen on your E names.

Jacob and benjamin nn jake and ben
Love holly Sofia and thea but am guessing Sofia and Thea is a bit samey? Love those 2 tho Smile

hohohoshedittant · 13/12/2011 23:36

Lucas and Jacob nn Luke and Jake
Lucas and Thomas nn Luke and Tom
Thomas and Jacob nn Tom and Jake

Don't like Ewan, but the others are nice

Girls I'd go Holly and Sofia, but not too keen on any of the girl names tbh

dreamfeeder · 14/12/2011 11:03

Love esme and thea
Jacob and Lucas

I'm having twins, due April, and wierdly esme and thea and holly were on our list for girls, and I'm still thinking of Lucas (I caved, having 2 boys!).

I wouldn't worry about them being December and calling one girl holly. I like esme and holly too- both pretty and sound v different. We were going for Harriet though with it, if I could persuade Dh on esme! No need now though.

Congratulations on your twins!

muzmum · 15/12/2011 09:25

Thanks ladies - really helps to see what you think works together and for other suggestions too.

My choice so far is Esme and Thea or Jacob and Lucas but DH is worried that Jacob has suddenly become very popular. I still like it though!

Concern about Esme is how people will pronounce it. To me it's Ez-mee but I have heard Ez-may which I don't like!

Congratulations to you too dreamfeeder - are you decided on names yet?!

OP posts:
dreamfeeder · 16/12/2011 15:53

To me it's ez-mee too. I'd just correct anyone who said it wrong. My dd is Isla, and we've had it pronounced iz-la Hmm. I just corrected them.

I'm thinking of Sebastian and .... Lucas, or Toby, or ...

I love Sebastian, despite the fact our surname is a common one-syllable beginning with S. hoping with a middle name the SS initials won't matter.

muzmum · 16/12/2011 16:23

I don't think that's a problem - the double S thing. I like Toby but DH won't have it.

I can't understand Iz-la. Lovely name though.

Lots of lovely names in your list. Can't decide for boys but I like Holly and Emmeline. Holly lovely for Christmas. I was a bit sad not to have a Christmas dd as that's what we would have used!

dreamfeeder · 16/12/2011 16:57

I like Toby a lot, but would prefer Tobias for the birth certificate which dh won't contemplate which puts me off...

How exciting how close you are to meeting your babies!!! I think you did well not to find out the sex. We didn't for DD, and I was telling everyone I had a gut feeling I was having two boys, and was a bit disappointed when we did decide to find out- feel a bit like I opened my presents early!

Will you come back and tell us what yours are? All your names are lovely anyway, nothing you'll blight them with Wink Are you going to go for VB or CS?

muzmum · 16/12/2011 19:14

DH really likes Holly and seriously said it wouldn't make him think of Christmas (!?) - I just don't want one to have a Christmassy name and the other not - bound to end in tears one way or the other.

I am totally useless at seeing anything on the scans and we've been scanned every fortnight! They always asked but we always declined. Would have been more helpful to know when choosing names, buying things and getting the nursery sorted though!

CS for me as they're both breech and don't have room to turn - have been given an earlier date of 29 December now so names have become more pressing - less than 2 weeks!

Will let you know - would love to see what you settle on. Agree re Tobias but in my mind Toby is also a 'real' full name!

OP posts:
dreamfeeder · 16/12/2011 20:22

I don't think of Holly as a Christmas name in particular- mine are due April and i was thinking of it! It wouldn't be a question that sprang to mind if I met a Holly- 'oh, were you a December baby?!'. Think I'd still go esme and thea or esme and holly from your list for girls.

Really hope I convince Dh on Sebastian, its the other name that's tricky for me! Took us a day and a half to name dd once she arrived! We did both think she might be a boy, but would have taken even longer then, we really struggle to agree on names and boys in particular...

My 24 week scan is 29th December-I'll think of you meeting your babies!!! How exciting. I think I may have a CS too- previous difficult birth and third degree tear, twin two always breech on scan so far (though I'm monthly scans til 28 weeks, then fortnightly) and still time for him to turn I know, but also got...tmi... varicose veins in unmentionable places which mean I may err on the side of caution anyway and have a CS.

mybootsaremuddy · 16/12/2011 21:42

Thea and Esme sound lovely together.
Like the sound of Ewan and Felix.

congratulations on your twins. I have 6mth B/G twins....... they're great fun[cgrin]

Jojay · 16/12/2011 21:45

Thea and Esme, definitely

Felix and Jacob sound good too.

I've got nearly 5 month old b/g twins - they're ace! Good luck with it all Xmas Smile
