For a girl. Thoughts and feelings please.

We I are considering Darcy Ava if bump turns out to be a girl. We have a rather strong, not too common surname beginning with a Gr.

Eugh, chavsville.

hohohoshedittant · 09/12/2011 23:48

Love it. I only know one and she spells it Darcy.

maydaychild · 09/12/2011 23:31

Darcey and very very popular in se London!!

peeriebear · 09/12/2011 23:06

I like it, but I wouldn't go with Ava as a mn- it sounds like all one odd word running together. There are quite a lot of Darcys/Darcies round these here parts.

CointreauVersial · 09/12/2011 23:05

Like it, but prefer the Darcy spelling, as I have a pathelogical hatred of names ending ....ie.

ROFL notnow - it wasn't until DD was born and I got chance to sit down and do some serious catching up on that pile of books I'd been collecting that I realised the faux pas we'd made giving her Elizabeth as her middle name. Blush but Grin

Will she smoulder in doorways and swim through lakes in a see-through shirt? Will she have beautiful grounds at Pemberley and fail to talk to strangers at parties?

SoupDragon · 09/12/2011 22:39

Always makes me think of Arsey.

EdithWeston · 09/12/2011 22:32

I rather like it.

There are a fair few around here, spelt either Darcy or Darcey.

CrackerHatsandStetsonsAreCool · 09/12/2011 22:30

I have a Darcey, so clearly I think it's a lovely name.

However, with the middle name you're planning it could sound a bit 'does she ever?'.

It's a marmite name on MN, but clearly the lovers have got here first this time Grin

It's sort of popular around here, but the only other two I've ever heard of were passing in the street. It's still unused enough.

smartyparts · 09/12/2011 20:50

Disagree about it not being common - it's v popular here.

mathanxiety · 09/12/2011 20:48

Can't get past the 'arse' sound in the middle, sorry.

vickyj52 · 09/12/2011 20:01

Love Darcie but think Darcy is the masculine spelling of the name. So would go for Darcie or Darcey? Not sure whether Ava goes as a middle name.

DELHI · 08/12/2011 14:47

Darcy Ava - does she ever??
Not good IMO

foolserrand · 08/12/2011 09:45

Hadn't considered that spelling. It's nice! Thank you! :)

Love it -It was one our list and I love the spelling mentioned above. I think Darcie Ava is absolutely beautiful!

LaTristesse · 08/12/2011 09:30

I know an adult one; spelt with an 'ie'; I've always thought it very pretty.

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 08/12/2011 09:27

I'm biased - Darcie is my daughters name. it's beautiful and it's still not that common Smile
