Classic, he certainly won't be embarrassed later in life. I love the classic names.

it's kind of both imo. it's classic and perfectly nice but not especially interesting, unusual, individual or memorable so to me is also quite plain but not 'too plain' unless your surname renders it so.

it's a class-neutral, non-offensive, wouldn't cause any comment (except on here obv) kinda name so if that's what you're after then the job's a good'un.

exoticfruits · 04/12/2011 11:41

Classic and lovely.

missmiss · 04/12/2011 11:34

It's my brother's name! Lovely :)

jellybeans · 04/12/2011 11:22

I find James really boring, sorry. I think because it has been overdone in the past. It also feels abit plural.

GirlWithALlamaTattoo · 04/12/2011 11:14

Lovely.

darlingdds2 · 03/12/2011 15:57

Rather plain and boring.

proudfoot · 03/12/2011 14:22

Lovely and classic.

zenoushka · 03/12/2011 12:38

Love it - very classic and strong.

Yorky · 03/12/2011 12:09

Love it, both names and the combination - if I didn't already have an Amy Jamie/James would be a strong contender for #4
And we have an Alan too, so 2 names which could be shortened to AL are out :( really should have looked at the implicatuions for future DC before naming the ones we have!
I even like Alexandra for a girl

maandpa · 03/12/2011 11:30

Lovely, smart and classic.

HoldTouchEngage · 03/12/2011 10:54

Good, strong, classic name! And i agree aslong as your surname isn't Smith or Brown etc Wink

kerala · 02/12/2011 21:34

Exactly its really common (as it in lots of them). If that doesnt bother you fine but there are lots of great non mad names out there much more interesting than James Alexander which imo is instantly forgettable.

RillaBlythe · 02/12/2011 20:38

My ex is a James Alexander. Knew someone else who was Alexander James.

picnicbasketcase · 02/12/2011 20:34

Ace!

EssieW · 02/12/2011 20:32

LOve it! Love it! Alexander one of my fav boys names (although for various reasons not used) and so is James.

kerala · 02/12/2011 20:29

Its ok but not particularly exciting or memorable is it? Sorry to rain on the parade.

lurkinginthebackground · 02/12/2011 19:55

Your surname doesn't begin with P does it?!

IssyStark · 01/12/2011 14:30

Definite thumbs up

(but then I'm the mum of an Alexander Iain)

magicrat · 01/12/2011 13:27

If it's good enough for James Alexander Gordon then it should be good enough for anyone!
