Any opinions on this for our dd? I want to name her something unusual and slightly hippyish but not too bizarre. Atm I love this name but I keep changing my mind, damn hormones!

It's one of these names which sounds a bit different... the first time. It's a pretty name but perhaps getting a bit faddy now. Serena is a less popular alternative.

ds is 2.8 - his swimming class covers from 2 - 3. We are no where near Wales!

(although the parents may have Welsh heritage, but not obviously iyswim)

In the immortal words of Tom Jones... It's not unusual... Well in Wales it isn't, I know loads of Serens, mostly in the 0-5 age group.

I think it's in the top 5 given names in Wales but outside of Wales pretty unusual.

I like it a lot and lovely meaning too.

Thanks everyone, I should clarify I'm only 21 weeks pg so theres plenty of time to change my mind yet but we know we're having a girl and so far this is the only name dh and I agree on!

Bellie may I ask, how old are the 2 in your son's swimming class? I'm very surprised to hear that its popular, I've only ever met one!

Lovely, I guess you know it is Welsh for "star". I don't know any, but I am not in Wales.
