Milo or Edward (ted)

We are really struggling with a name for ds2. Milo and edward are the only 2 names that we like at the mo.

Problem is we have a Jake already. So it's either the tweenie connection or twilight!!!

We always loved the name Jake even before we were married. When I was pregnant with ds1 he was always going to be jake. This time around we just don't have that with any name and are really struggling.

The tweenie/twilight connection doesn't really put me off but I know other people will make the connection. Does it matter??

I really like Milo, unfortunately my DH doesn't so I won't get to use it.

Tweenies won't be remembered forever, go with it if you love it. I don't think it's as commonly used as Edward either (but I also like Ted)

breathless my Norfolk terrier is called Milo. I love the name!

AgathaTrunchbull · 25/11/2011 21:11

The original Milo was an Olympian boxer. The other vaguely famous classical Milo was a gang leading politician at the same time as Caesar's wars in Gaul. I suppose the point I'm making is that Milo is quite a cool name and shouldn't be linked exclusively to the 'Tweenies' character.

I like both names, but Milo is a drink where I live (not in UK), however I actually think it works better with Jake...sorry not much help!

I love Milo.

It makes me think of Catch 22 - is there a Milo in that? Or have I completely imagined that?

flopsy1974 · 25/11/2011 13:38

Edward is a strong, classic name. Milo is not. i don't think the twighlight connection matters either.

NewsClippings · 25/11/2011 10:32

They're both nice names. I think Milo goes well with Jake.

I think the tweenie connection is a bit much personally. I also think Milo sounds like a terrier!

What about Miles? Sounds lovely with Jake & avoids the tweenie thing. Or Giles?

Edward is a wonderful name, but I may be biased, as it is my Grandpa's name. Think the nn Ted is very lovely or even Teddy while he's a baby/young child. If you're going to mainly use a nn anyway does the twilight connection matter? I suspect not.

This is Milo:

Edward is fine but quite widely used already.
