Due in one week and have no names!!

DC3 is due in one week and we have absolutely no idea as to what to call them! We already have a Jeremiah Henry (Jem) and a Saskia Austen. With both of them the names they were given we had loved since we found out the sex. This time round we didn't find out the sex and are really struggling to come up with a name. Most of the names that I love DH has branded as pretentious whilst not coming up with any alternatives! I'll put a list underneath of names that I really love (and that have not been completely vetoed by DH) but, as well as opinions on those, I would also love some other suggestions. Thanks if you've read this far!

Girls
Honor
Philippa (Pip)
Ellen
Ivy
Claudia
Elsa
Paloma

Boys (much longer!)
Corin
Cassius
Bay
Finton
Arlo
Bruno
Ivan
Felix
Silas
Myles

Honor is very fashionable at the moment really...? Shock Shock

mumbrane · 22/11/2011 18:45

I like Ellen very much. Ivy is sweet. Paloma is a wonderful name.
Not keen on the others - Honor is very fashionable at the moment, which would put me off.
I love Cass as a nn so would go for Cassius. Silas is also lovely.

Prefer Miles to Myles. Dont like the others, I'm afraid.

veggieburger · 22/11/2011 18:38

That's already been and gone for being to ghost-y! He is so hard to please!

Veggie what a about Casper...less carrot more ghostly but in a good way!

veggieburger · 21/11/2011 22:22

Oooh that's a bit spooky Scarlett! I'm liking your suggestion of Jasper but DH vetoed it for being 'too carrot-y' Hmm

Just have to comment on this tread!!!

I'm Philippa Honor and DD is Honor Elizabeth. Honor is a family name and I was utterly delighted to have a girl so we could use it.

I also had on my list: Claudia and Paloma (DH won't let me...{booo}) for girls so naturally big thumbs up from moi! For the boys: Arlo and Finton. Bruno and Felix are cool but i'm not that brave.

Other boys names I like are: Jasper, Tristan and Xavier! Any good?

Off the find a new nn as i've totally outed myself now Grin

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 21/11/2011 19:14

Girls

Sorry but I don't like any of your boys' names. How about Philip nn Pip? Love Barnaby.

TheMadHatter74 · 21/11/2011 19:03

Corin Arlo and Bruno Finton would be my choice for a boy and Honor Philippa or Paloma Ivy if a girl.

DD1 would've been Corin and DD3 would've been Cassius so they're my choice from your list!

Your girls' choices are lovely too.

Jeremiah Henry, Saskia Austen and...

Ivy Paloma
Philippa Ivy

Felix Myles
Arlo Cassius
Silas Corin

ViviPru · 20/11/2011 14:17

Well thanks all for the positive reaction to my RL name Blush Grin

OP FWIW, going through life named "Philippa" has been great, I really like having a different version of a name to use in different circs, i.e. professionally, I'm Philippa, while those I'm close to tend to use Pip, I'm Aunty Pip-Pip or Pippi to DNs and GodDCs. As A kid I was always 'Pippa' but I like that least now and don't tend to use it much, but don't mind if others do.

I like that its uncommon, but not unusual. And its only a minor frustration to have to correct people that its one L three Ps.

So no prizes for guessing what gets my vote on your list. I love Bay and Silas for boys. Gosh Silas has had a few mentions round here lately

Niamh07 · 20/11/2011 04:35

I like Phillipa and Claudia, Felix and Myles.
