I know there are men with this name (like Warwick Davis) but I don't think it's particularly nice as a given name. It's a place name first and foremost. Would be horrible on a girl.

Plus, if they ever go to America they'll become War-wick , like Dionne Warwick.

I just think of castle. If I saw if for a person I'd think warlock. Which may be an interesting choice of name.

Ashley was tall slim guy with glasses who ran the Nightline thing - he did Economics iirc. I remember very little from my 4 years Smile far too much beer consumed. I hung out with Ellis, Aaron, Simon, Sam, Karen, Slade ??? Ring any bells? I will pm you!

Bizarre!! I am still friends on FB with Ashley who did my induction training for Nightline! Bet we know/knew each other!

Its on my list for a Boy and I love it, we have a W surname bu think we could just about get a way with it, its a fab name :)

Totally not a girls names though.

I love Warwick for a boy, and would put it on our list, apart from the fact that I will be having the baby at Warwick (though maybe they would give me a private room and be extra nice to me in that case?), and DH and I met at Warwick uni!!! I would assume any Warwicks were boys not girls, and wouldn't choose it for a girl.

Thanks all - they have a old relative with the name within the family and the place, (whilst not conception) is of significant importance to them both - I love it for a boy personally, not for a girl

I had a great uncle Warwick. Such a thick Cornish accent everyone in the family joked we could never understand a word he said. So hard for me to imagine it on a baby girl, sorry!

Warwick is a great name for a boy. It was on our list. I've only met two men named it in my life and thought it a rather masculine name.

Personally i wouldn't associate it with the town at all.

Wouldn't everyone just assume that was where she/he was conceived?

I used to work for a family business with sons named Chester, Hertford and Witney after their places of conception. I suppose they just have to be relieved they hadn't been in Skegness Grin

I like this name for a boy, and wouldn't like it on a girl.
