We already have a 2 DSs with distictly Irish names and are struggling to come up for ANY names for DC3. We are only 20 weeks so plenty of time yet but I want to be sorted when he or she arrives. So far we have a few ideas, none that we love though. Opinions on the following names and suggestions of similar names would be gratefully recieved.

Boys
Fergus
Brady
Cormac
Murphy
Seamus/Shat

Girls
Alannah
Niamh
Talulla

I would have called dd Aoife if I had heard of it before she was named! As it is she has the english version, and I thought dh was terribly unreasonable not to let me change it. ;)

Murphy is a great name!

whoknowswho · 10/11/2011 21:11

I love Fidelma (fiddle for short!) and Bridie for girls and Seoirse (pronounced showsha and meaning george) and Ruairi or Rory for boys. Roisin and Peig and Colm and Eamon are nice too.

TheOldestCat · 10/11/2011 20:56

I love Orla too; pretty yet strong.

We have an Eoin, so naturally I like that too!

Of your list, my favourites are Seamus and Alannah. But they're all lovely.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 10/11/2011 20:55

I have an Orla!
In my family there is Aoibhinn, Maeve, Cormac, Tara, Brendan, Aoife, Colm, Dearbhail and many more!
I also love Oisin.

TapselteerieO · 10/11/2011 20:54

I was just about to suggest Aoife, it is lovely as is Maeve and Roisin

I like Ciara, Dervla and Orla too.

Cathall, Ossian, Conall, Donnacha, Dermot, Poraig

101North · 10/11/2011 20:52

Always loved Orla for a girl. There's probably a strange way of spelling it involving b's and stuff

Crazybusyme · 10/11/2011 20:49

Maeve is my all time favourite Irish girls name, my dc4 is a Maeve... I have a Conor and a Caitlin too which I love (obv)... Fergus & Tallulah nicest from your list. Aoife and Liam lovely too per Towndons suggestions... Good luck!

Towndon · 10/11/2011 20:42

Fergus or Seamus for a boy, Alannah or Talulla for a girl.

How about

Ethan, Reece, Aidan, Liam, Ciaran

Caitlin, Aoife, Roisin, Colleen, Abigail

TheMadHatter74 · 10/11/2011 20:30
