how odd is too odd...

I'm only talking middle names but me and DH are having a bit of a disagreement. One mn is sorted (a family tradition - mine- with that one) but DHs family all have 2 mn so another one is required.

We sort of agree on first names.

But we have many many differences of opinions on the other mn.

So how left of field is 'your parents should be commited'? and does it matter?

I think they're fantastic names, and whatever you decide, your child will be forever grateful for the name you have bestowed upon them :)

Dobby?!?! Is there any other link to it than a short house elf who is very odd looking. I think all of those names are quite awful and think you should rethink, IMVHO - you are giving this to your child for life!

DH wont even accept the ones that are 'poper names' and their are 3

DH wants 2 - all his family have 2. So 2 it is. I figured if i put family name as 1mn this 2nd mn will get left off a few thing so we could go crazy (but then all of DHs family use theirs, but then they are the sort)

rushof it is my favourite word ever :)

Nope - seeker - I like the idea of having a bit of a funky/odd mn that does have a meaning attached to it - as they all do.
Fns are all 'normal' at least to my ears
and surname isn't bizarre or anything.

well he has a list of traditional english names as first names are all welsh or irish (I'm welsh/irish he's english)
family mn is my mums maiden name - a very irish surname

And well my list includes (gender neutral - obviously):

Radar
Navckid
Dobby
Elmo
Gelert
Severus
Oxymoron

Tbh I love unusual names - the odder the better! But at the same time we probably have completely different tastes - my DS's are Darwin Silas, Heath Cassian, Shay Orlando, Gabriel Wolf and Hendrix Jeremiah :)

I like odd names. I think it's a lot more acceptable now but I still remember some of my bonkers childhood friends' ones and have given my own children rather unusual middle names (and first ones for that matter!). I don't have a middle name so I've always been jealous!
