I want to hear some funny suggestions from your DCs. This is the list that my two (aged 4 and 5 yo) would have written for their new brother or sister:

Poostand
Lovely
Bullseye
Die (my DS doesn't want another sister)

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

DS1 said he wanted to call DS2 Thomas the Tank Engine. We dropped 'the Tank Engine' and went with it Smile

mrsshears · 23/10/2011 16:47

This reminds me of the time we played a trick on dd1 and told her she was nearly named stinky,to which she replied "but thats a boys name"!
Still tickles me years later Grin

saffron · 23/10/2011 16:37

DD wanted to call ds Alien. Ds was born at 27 weeks and to our shock looked just like an Alien.

peeriebear · 23/10/2011 16:22

DD1 wanted to call DD2 Poodle. :)

Bartimaeus · 23/10/2011 16:20

My friend's 3 year old DS wanted to call his baby brother "chocolate cake". 6 months later we met up and I was pregnant. So he asked us to call our baby "chocolate cake". Everyone said "but that's what you wanted to call your brother", so he changed it to "strawberry tart" Hmm

Hannah1890 · 23/10/2011 16:17

Not a sibling to my DS bt my little brother age 7 wanted to call DS Galaxy, I thought he was being very sophisticated thinking of the galaxy like with the stars and planets etc, turns out it was after the chocolate bar... Ds not called Galaxy but his teddy bear is as compromise :)

scarevola · 23/10/2011 16:08

I've just asked. For a boy, it was the (nice, normal) Oscar.

But for a girl, it was Spring, Summer, Winter or Flower!

NevilleBarnes · 23/10/2011 16:06

2 year old DD wanted to call DS1 'Tesco' Grin Luckily she likes the name we chose.

DS who is now 3y wanted to call DS2 Harry. We didn't choose this name but DS will only refer to 5-month-old DS2 as Harry. Looks a bit dodgy in public sometimes when DS is talking to 'Harry' and DH and I are talking to BabyNevilleBarnes...

josieangel · 23/10/2011 15:50

My parents asked my then 3 year old brother for his suggestions on what to call me.

Thankfully for me they chose not to go with his delightful suggestion of "Fish 'ed"

barbie1 · 23/10/2011 15:43

Dd who is 20 month is telling everyone that her new baby will be called...bambi!

msbuggywinkle · 23/10/2011 15:39

DD1's suggestions for DD3 have been

Rose (we were going to use it, but a close friend used it)
Bluebell, after her chicken.
Twinkletoes

pranma · 23/10/2011 15:37

Monkey [for a girl]
no boys names because,'I'm a boy'
It was a girl but we didnt use his name....

betabaker · 23/10/2011 15:30

DD1 (aged4 )had this name all lined up for DD2:
Daffodil Poochie-pie Jesus Zebedee Strawberry Spring baby (+ surname)

As a compromise we let her choose the RL middle name - and she came up with Florence!

Tolalola · 23/10/2011 15:27

DD would have been James if DS had had his way

GlaikitFizzogOnaNeepyLantern · 23/10/2011 15:14

saffroncake Louisa is the fifth von trapp. [hgrin]

AVoidkaTheKillerZombies · 23/10/2011 15:06

DS2 would have been called Gordon Henry Percy if DS1 had had his was (was going through a Thomas stage at the time)

About 2 years ago he also decided he didnt like his own name and wanted us to call him Chad Sparrow Hmm

Sandalwood · 23/10/2011 14:55

DD said she wishes we'd called her Rainbow Rose.

toddlerama · 23/10/2011 03:44

Duckyducky.

Fishpants · 23/10/2011 03:29

My 3-year-old niece has suggested Rapunzel for anything needing a name these days - regardless of gender.

PinterestQueen · 22/10/2011 14:03

DS wanted to call DD puppy - his comforter toy's name. Nothing but imaginative in this house!

Kayano · 22/10/2011 12:43

I have none yet but my little 6 year old neice suggested Caitlin...
Which is oddly enough the middle name anyway

And my cousins 5 year old said Sophie ... Which is dh's top name

SaffronCake · 21/10/2011 19:01

DD when aged 6/7 was proposing Bluebell, Tinkerbell, Annabelle (after the baby doll) and Fifi for a potential sister.

By 8 or so she'd discovered the Sound of Music so she wanted Leisl, Gretl, Brigitta, Marta and something else I forgot... But not Maria, that was a grown up.

TiarasTimeOutsAndTantrums · 21/10/2011 18:47

DS would say Buzz lightyear coolest toy ever.
Bit of a mouthful though

Hulababy · 21/10/2011 18:40

9y DD will only come up with sensible ideas I'm afraid.
For a girl Hermione or Persphonie.
For a boy Harry or Albus.

She does have a thing for Harry Potter thse days though!

BedatHogwarts · 21/10/2011 18:35

DS wants to name the baby after himself, regardless of whether it's a boy or girl!
