Victoria is being put on back burner for now (thank you by the way)

But my litto (grandmother) has just died (funeral was on the weekend) and that has thrown our names in the air. Now I would like to use her name in some way for DC.

Except she was spanish and her name : Mercedes.

And I think it may have been corrupted

Help ????

I know a couple of Mercedes and they are, without fail, shortened to Sadie. I love both the full name and the short name and don't think it's chavvy.

I love the name Dolores! I'd go with that as a middle name.

mycatsaysach · 19/10/2011 19:25

why not dolly as a middle name?

or mercy?

the only mercedes i know of was always called sadie

I think Mercedes is a great name, but would only work if you have a Soansh surname.

Lola is short for Loloita, which is short for Dolores. Any good?

Both Dolores and Mercedes are appellations of The Virgin. Perhaps Mary or Maria?

Or one of the other appellations - I'll have a look.

It's a car.

How about Mersera, which comes from the names Mercedes and Sara? Or Marisa, which is a variant of Maria (the nam Mercedes is related to Mary/Maria).

Litto middle name was Dolores. but don't really thinks that helps

My condolences on the passing of your grandmother.

I am afraid that the name is always going to be connected to the car and seen as "chav" in UK.

Could you use it as a middle name? Or did your grandmother have a middle name?
