Unusual Boys Names

Hi all,
Pregnant with DC2, got my 20 week scan in 3 weeks and we're hoping to find out what it is but i'd like to have a shortlist of names.
I think we've decided (for now at least) on Delilah Mei for a girl (Mei spelt that way as a nod to one of my favourite films, not a bid to be 'interesting') but really stuck for boys, plus DH and I just can't agree. We have Dexter so it needs to go with that, only other criteria is that it should be unusual but not really weird.

Can anyone inspire me?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

@ Mopsyflopsy
It is quite unusual where I am , I guess it is region dependent and without specifics I was just throwing in my tuppence worth !

Fear not ladies- whatever associations are made with your DC's names, there will always be worse out there.

i know a Sister and brother who were lovingly named Ronnie-mai and Reggie-Rai
Hmm

LaTristesse thank you! not at all, i think it'll still be a while before it becomes common :) I did hear it used as a boys name once before i became pregnant- it did help that the Sennen in question was gorgeous! :)

That's good that you like it, Grumpy ! I love Rex too and want to use it someday. :) I don't want people to say it's a dog name.

mrskbpw · 18/10/2011 13:04

I love Teddy and Woody. Are they toy names?!

Someone has suggested my maiden name on here, which I have hardly ever heard as a surname, let alone as a first name. Am now considering it as a middle name for my third - yet to be conceived (am working on husband) - son!

My son has just started school and has a Timoni and a Caius in his class. I quite loved Caius until I googled it and discovered it's from Twilight.

Bud or Buddy, Angus, Kai... My son is a Caleb, which actually appears in the Bible, so not weird, but definitely unusual in the UK. Could also use Cal. I would suggest having a short list and then seeing what fits.

KathMCB · 18/10/2011 09:22

I have a Cormac which is pretty common in Ireland but not so in Durham!

evamummy · 18/10/2011 08:51

What a lovely list of names - makes a refreshing change from all the Jacks, Charlies, Alfies, Archies and Finns around me. I wish I'd been braver in our name choice Smile.

I really like Marlon, Tristan, Quentin, Clement and Elijah.
