'Hipster' names?

Having a chat with a friend today about what we consider to be hipster names.

Some names mentioned were Matilda, Florence, Esme, Felix, Leo, Finn, Oscar

What would you add to the list? I am particularly interested as these are the type of name I go for and am trying to work on a list!

HoldTouchEngage, your names are very mainstream.

Real hipsters wouldn't be on mumsnet but would be squatting without leccy off the grid in some Dalston/ other as yet challenging inner city London region or some remote island in the outer Hebrides knitting conceptual art from miscellaneous items salvaged from skips or washed up on banks of local shore/ river bank.

Babble have a list of hipster names. here I have to say, I quite like Holden :) Followed, by the usual debate over what, precisely, constitutes a hipster name...!

I know a boy called Wolfgang, a few cass/cassius, an Indiana, a few Agnes, an Echo, Vita, Vivi, Monty, Trueman, and a boy whos middle name is Wolverine, all from the same nursery/school, I know the COOLEST kids Grin

Ok, so maybe 3 or 4 are a tad unuseable......

Since when has 'hipster' been synonymous with popular/common?

A 45-year old Tory has (fairly) recently called his DD Florence. Surely that name has now lost all 'hip' credentials. Grin

I'd just like to point out that my 20 year old is called Oscar. Nice to know I was so ahead of the times.

Finisterre would be really retro, as it no longer exists on the shipping forecast.

Never heard the term hipster before but can guess what it means. Can't help thinking that if you're trying to be hip you are anything but hip - the attitude of 'I am a hipster therefore my child must have a name like -insert random name-' seems very prescribed to me! Why can't people just choose what they like instead of trying to subscribe to some sort of 'cool' group. And agree with whoever said that if you are cool, the name you choose will be cool.
