When you were a child/teen what baby name were you going to 'definitely' use for future DC's?

...And did any of you actually use them?

You have to put the rough year too, so we can spot the trends, if any.

Me:

1991 (I was ten) I wanted Kylie and Trystin. Yes spelled like that. And Kylie had a heart above the 'i'. Ahem

1996 (fifteen) I wanted Phoebe Luna (had an interest in astronomy) and Maxwell Jordan.

Still love Phoebe now, the others...not so much!

1988 - Keeley. Thought it was the most beautiful girl's name in the world.

Certainly didn't use it or anything like it for my DD.

When I was about 11, I think, I only thought of a couple of girls names.

I wanted Imogen or Morgan, not idea of the reasoning. From about 14, I swore that I wouldn't have kids, how life has changed :)

I now have a lovely DS named the second name I wanted, I've only just remembered that I liked his name all those years ago :)

Twin boys Levi Jaime and Carlton Robert then a year later I would have twin girls Harley Leigh and Bailey Rae. They were going to be dressed in head to toe Kappa as well, classy!

When I was a little less Vicky Pollard I loved the name Phoebe but I only read it and thought it was pronounced Foebe Blush.
When I realised how it was pronounced I wasn't so keen!

The only name I have considered from the list is Robert.

I had lots of girls names planned, all from books. Particular favourites were Clover (What Katy did- aged 10ish) Simone (Chalet School - aged 12ish) Alisaundre (?? aged 14ish) Natasha (War and Peace- aged 16) and some other European names from the Chalet school. Didn't use any of them. DD has a "classic" name.

DS has the name I've loved since I was little.

I fell in love with a name on a popular BBC period drama when I was about 15, and now have a DD with the same name. What can I say, I had impeccable taste :). Luckily everyone so far has said they love it too so I'm probably not a deluded twat.

From the age of about 9 (1995 onwards) I was convinced I'd call my first son Oliver, middle name probably Frederick, after my dad and both grandads. Gone off Oliver in the last year or so as it's got so popular, but DS is named Frederick!

Luke for a boy, after a character in a book by Diana Wynn Jones ('Eight days of Luke'). Would have been about 12-13. Didn't use it.

When I was about 15 (1993) i was going to have all girl sextuplets called Evangeline, Beatrice (House of Elliott influence), Jessica, Tessa, Roberta and Harriet. Surprising i didn't have all girl sextuplets. No Dd as yet but would consider all names except roberta .

When I was little I was going to have 11 children (no husband though) the youngest of who was called Zachariah. A little bit later my cousin and I would spend hours designing our very large twin filled families. The twins all had lots of freckles and matching names. I seem to remember Edward and Frederick featuring quite a bit Grin

I used to love the name Bram, short for Abraham. Hmm

Caitlyn for a girl for the longest time, and yes pronounced Kate-lynn. River Elizabeth, also for a girl. Hmm

When I was in my late teens I loved, loved, loved Ella and Aidan.

I had a friend called Laura who died of leukaemia in the 80s and I was going to use that. I didn't - though it made the top 5 shortlist, and I do still like it.

I wanted Oquit and Kailash for boys (aged 16). I heard that Kailash was the name of a holy mountain, and I think I made Oquit up.

For a girl, I liked Miranda. And still do! Would definitely use that for future DD. DS will NOT be Oquit or Kailash...

As for boys I can only really remember Hadleigh! ...in my defence it was my friends exceptionally handsome twin brother's moniker

When I was 15 or so (circa 1998) I liked names that I now feel are quite chavvy, like Donna, Nicola and Ashleigh.

OMG - I remember at 15 drunkenly fighting with a (random) taxi driver (who I didn't even shag) over whether I should call my imaginary future daughter Tracey or Julie (like, WHAT!). I eventually settled on the "sophisticated" alternative of "Katrina Suzette".

Thank Fuck I had sons - and not even by a random taxi driver.

When I was a girl I had a holly hobby doll (some of you may be old enough to remember these). I named her Laura after a character in litttle house on the prairie. I swore I would use this name for my first DD but husband didn't like it. We didn't use his favourite name at the time either, he wanted her to be called trinity.

Bronwyn and Finlay - what blasts from the past - I remember loving Natalie Imbruglia's character (was that Neighbours or H&A??)- Beth and thinking that was a really ''cool'' girls name... :)
